Urs, I just want to once again publicly apologised for all the Zebra 2 bashing threads that I have played a part in.....I had tried to like zebra 2 at least on ten different occasions and in every occasion except the last one I dumped it cause I was unimpressed.
Then I heard some demos using the old Skool soundset and made a little bet with myself. I emailed Urs and asked him if a photo of my first ever synth would qualify for the dinosaur crossgrade and to myself I said if he said yes I would buy zebra 2 and if he said no it was an omen, that it really wasnt meant to be.
The next morning when I woke up I got an email from him saying, as a child he use to dream about that synth and sure it would qualify. Reluctantly then I kept my word and bought it. I have since also bought old skool, after skool, transmission (has anyone seen beej recently, I tried to pm to get the fix for 2.3.1) and science and although I still coudlnt' program it to save my life, I must admit I now get it. I now truly get it......It has now became my third favourite vsti I own and probably the one I use the second most often....
The right presets make so much of a difference. And although the factory presets are ok, HS's Science blows me away (along with the other banks I have purchased). I am now really looking forward to Zircon's next update.....

Urs, thanks for making a truly wonderful sounding synthesizer. I now get it.....

Of course I would love a different preset browser and a way to keep the large size as my default size and...... and ... :-), but all my wishes are in terms of aesthetics and user interface issues.

(Paraphrase of Jack Handy).

Now, go forth and spread the word about Zebra2. May peace be with you.

I have to say, Zebra food could possibly be the best patch collection i've heard for zebra. And it's free!

Post

ok, yes I realised now I did try it out. unfortunately some of the patches seem to have the same problem that transmission has in 2.3.1 which I think at least in transmssion is caused by some lfo change... but some of the patches are too loud and distort so I am hoping that the kind sole who programmed this bank and then GAVE it away for free :-) would be kind enough to one day fix it so that many aren't so loud.

My host of choice has volume control faders so i lowered them. Problem solved but then i'm a weird one.

no need for sarcasm.....lol.....but I am lazy that way. I like things like consitent volume between patch browsing....I am weird that way :-).. But let me not sound ungrateful for the programmer who created all of that then gave it away for free, but for me personally I would certainly pay if he decides to fix the consistency of volume and sell it...

Hmm. Not my method of choice. I use the master volume in zebra. Then hit save.

I think I might be weirder than you!

you know and I really shouldn't admit this, but I am not quite sure where the mast volume in zebra is.... stop laughing :-)

Bottom Center. Same section as effects sends. Output - You'll see it.

just noticed it...thanks. I just assumed (yes I haven't read the manual) that that was some kind of effects return..

Ya gotta love it!

For a while i used to 'save as' with a modified name  [but it's not a bad habit in general]... then realized, who cares? if it was too loud, it was too loud!

Congratulations on getting Zebra.
Some of the Zebra food patches have high cpu usage too. You can adjust the voice setting in global effects to medium or few.(if set at many) It will use less cpu that way. Those presets use alot of effects too. You can also get many more free presets from this forum. Don't forget to go through the manual.
Good luck,
Michael :)
