I will check the code latter to be sure there is no memory leak. Also, about CPU usage, keep an eye on number of voices. Also, the non-SSE code is not fully optimized like the SSE code, sorry.

Did you download the update for this sound-file? Since that was fixed allready, I placed the updated file under the "Sample Updates" folder. ;)

I will check the MUTE problem.

About difference on the sound from Single-Out to Multi-Out. I will check if using 64 bits for the mixer solves that. Shouldn't add CPU usage, since is one extra cycle per sample, not a big deal.

Umm .. that is with the update. Its strange though .. when I played with it just before .. it didn't do it. Could be my loop in Cubase which was doing it.

William,

Finally got it to duplicate again with the screen update not working properly. I Emailed you a pic of it to you WilliamK account.

Ok, I'm not quite sure when this started, but now the CP70 in the F1 and lower makes an odd 'bump' noise at the beginning of the loop point I think? File I have is dated Nov 9th at 10:33pm. I'm getting VERY lost with all these sound files floating around as updates now though. I know the packs are huge to some, but it's getting difficult to remember what is what anymore.

Oh, one last thing, tonal problem fixed as well between multi and single EVE. :)

Devon, I will pack all SoundSets after tomorrow into a single file. ;)

Also, the display problem is not related to our code. Is the VST-GUI Library by Steinberg. Is prob something related to the Lib x DisplayDriver or even Host version. Not sure yet. This never happened on my machine on any hosts...

You'll need to pack 'em up, since it looks like a few are now missing with your new presets. ;)

Also, I just updated my Matrox G450 drivers to the latest from their site, so we'll see if that fixes anything. Might have just been old drivers.

going to get the beta 23 now, just back from work... wondering William when you say "Its the Leslie", I understand what you are saying but don't you agree it's a problem? I mean, I have other organs or even other VSTi's that I can add an FX with a Leslie to, even control the speed and distance and rotation, etc... and that don't cause this kind of 'noise'...

I just imagine this driving someone nuts wondering where the 'glitch' is coming from in a track... you know what I'm saying, eh?

btw... the presets I've tried so far are great ideas..I think they really point out some of the potential of EVE...

Post

ah don't think this can be what you wanted...

I have beta 23 now, and I think all the snds are in the right folders....

ok then preset for EP-Rhodes and Wurlies

I find a terrible clicking and it's caused by the Rhodes 73 samples on channel C .... but really by the echo applied to that channel.... turn the echo off and the clicks go away... the echo is ok on the two Wurly channels, A and B

.... I just can't imagine using a sound like this with that clicking in there.... is this a mistake or????

Post

wait a min.... my last post... now I'm checking the EP-Triple Clavinet preset... same sort of thing... BUT this has same samples on all channels, right... and I find the clicking is ONLY on Channel C... seems to not exactly be caused by the echo but by something wierd with Channel C! :?: hmmmm apparently it's to do with the A setings for the Attack part of ADSR... a fast Attack along with Echo is what makes this mess... but what to do about it and still keep a fast Attack like this pre has....?????

Post

ok here is some clarity maybe:

load up preset Synth-Combo W Pad... it has the minimoog saw in all chan's...

as it is, it is a clicking monster... BUT

on chan A bring the Attack up to about +0 1 1 and on Chan B raise it to about + 0 3 7 leave chan C alone... now for me this makes a wonderfull rich brassy sound... and none of that clicking stuff...

Post

Max, I checked all 3 presets here with Single and Multi out EVE. None produces click on my machine. So I will need more data from you in order to track this problem out. First, when you open the ABOUT page, does it shows next to the Version "With SSE" or "No SSE"? Also, wich host you did the tests? And remind me your processor. What is your HZ Frequency? (SampleRate) And final, if you lower your volume, does that fixes the problem?

Regards, Wk

Post

I tried that preset, maybe max means the repeated
click you get since attack is short and echo repeats that click (?)

Post

Still can't reproduce it. Max, could you send to my email williamk@dashsignature.com a mp3 example and also, let me know how short are the notes in your test?

BTW: I uploaded Noise-Waveforms to the "Sample Updates" folder. I missed those.

William and Liqih... yes, what liqih said is exactly what I mean!

About says beta 23 WITH SSE

my CPU is AMD XP 1800+
audio card is Delta 1010
Host for this stuff is Chainer 1.03 but I'll use SX for the mp3's and see

I will see about an mp3 example shortly

now I was thinking just last night about your system William... it could really be nuts to have you working on a system that didn't produce the sound levels of some users systems... darn... what audio card and speakers and such do you use? I know you mentioned this once way back someplace...
