I've been reading these posts for a while, and I have a quick question: Will the V-pedal have more processing power than the current V-machine? Will it come out before the V-Rack?
Thanks heaps :) I've had my eye on one of these for ages, Its a hard decision :|

Thank you,
Saf

The Vmachine won't load instruments bigger than 300MB (Samplelord).

What to do?

Hi Paul,

Running on an external stick?

Does Sample Lord Sample Stream from HDD or only Load to RAM?
...I can still just load Instruments up to 350MB with Samplelord. I tried Paax 2, but it's even worse (ca. 50 MB limit)...

please help!

Thanks,

Paulustus

Did anyone finally manage to load a really good Piano-Plugin into the V-Machine? I tried to sample "Ivory" with Ziokillers Method (via "Extreme Sample Converter" and "Samplelord"), but the V-Machine hung itself while loading the 500MB-File. So to be honest: I'm thinking of selling the V-Machine, 'cause if there isn't any Piano-VSTi that runs on it, it's useless for me...

Since the V-machine has only 512 Mb of RAM, I don't think that SampleLord can bufferise a 500 Mb sampleset. You can try to set a lower buffering time (500 ms or 250 ms per sample) and the appropriate streaming chunk size (64 or 128 bytes, according your drive's speed).

Dear Peter,

Perhaps you should try Pianissimo, it's small, low cpu load and it sounds very well.
You can download a trial version at:

Well, I've tried Tascams free CVPiano - but the VFX-Software crashes to Desktop when I try to import the Plugin. :x :x :x
Didn't try "Pianissimo" yet...

Ok Marco, I've downloaded Pianissimo. The Problem is that none of the .dll's in its Directory can be identified as a VST-Plugin. So "Pianissimo" doesn't work either (funny that this didn't surprise me... ).
Peter :?

Sorry...it's me again. I finally found the .dll. But when I tried to install it, the VFX-Software crashes again - and needs to be reinstalled, because obviously "pianissimo" screws something up. This really makes me sick. :(

I installed Pianissimo on my V, but the CPU load was too high that you only could play 4-5 notes.

These piano plugins are way too heavy for the V-Machine.

Post

How did you install it, Ziokiller? Do you have a Wizardfile for it?

Ouch, sounds no good  Hope you find I piano that will work well on the v-machine.
I'm still waiting for a good piano on the v-machine too.
I returned my v-machine back to the store after strugglin several days, so I cannot experiment anymore with plugins. I believe in the v-machine but I think it is too early for me at this moment.

Best regards,
Marco

The piano sounds that come the V-Machine sound pretty good for live playing.
If I were you, I would return your V-Machine for another one. Later, Ray

I don't think it's the machine, I would make sure I have the latest version of the VFX software, uninstall the one on your machine, then install the new version, whatever happens inside VFX has nothing to do with the V-machine...

I did consider returning mine, but I decided to give smpro my vote, they will eventually work it out, it's all a software and vendor issue, the hardware is fine, and when they do get everything going, I won't be kicking myself for not keeping mine, plus I'll feel great knowing that I contributed in some small part to the development of this great product. I waited for years for someone to come up with an inexpensive and simple alternative to a laptop, and this is definitely it, this is a vendor issue and all the plugin vendors have to do is to provide support for the V-Machine, which is a great idea and the timing with this Economy could not be better for it !!

:) :) :)
