Hello, i just purchased this synth with the group buy, in addition with my also recently purchased Zebra2 im quite happy to renew my arsenal i must say.

I don't know if this issue was adressed before, i did a search but the closest thing i found was the "memory leak" and is not exactly related.

What happens is when i have the synth on the screen visible, the graphical performance suffers from some slow refresh, or something like that. I mean, for example, if i move the transport bar or any other window, you can see the "trace" and it takes a bit to refresh and get fixed. This doesnt happens with any of the rest of the synths or plugins that i use. But as long as the sylenth1 interface is on the screen, the graphical performance suffers from this.

Also if for example i assign the modulation wheel, the one that is on the synth doesnt "flow" with the real one, wich again, it doesnt happens with for example FM7 or another soft synth that has an on screen virtual keyboard. And speaking of the virtual keyboard, the keys get stuck quite often, though is not a problem that applies to the sound you hear, is another evidence that something is wrong with the graphical interface of the synth, but this keys thing is not that important as long as the "real" ones match with the performance.

All this quick testing was done in my laptop, pentium M 1.73Ghz, 2Gb Ram, ATI x300 128mb (meaning that is not a shared graphic card),Windows xp sp2, Cubase sx3. Im on holydays and this is what i have here, i have in home a more powerful desktop quadcore wich is the main audio computer i use, but as i said, this never happened with the rest of the synths, even in the laptop.

Is this something that happens to others, a known bug?

Thanks.

P.S: Im not native, im spanish, so excuse for possible mistakes.

WHat CPU usage is showing when this happens? If its around 70% upward - it will mean that your laptop CPU isnt fast enough To be honest, pentium M 1.73Ghz is slow these days.

Yes is above 70% most of the time, and as i said this laptop is not intended for projects, but enough powerful for some sketches. The point is, even with a complex patch with another synth (Zebra2, Fm7, Z3ta+, Fabfilter Twin for example), or even starting to get click and pops because of the low latency and heavy cpu usage, this erratic graphical behaviour doesnt happens, is only related to sylenth1. I did several tests with few synths in the same project, just switching and playing for a while and i repeat, regardless of the cpu usage, is only when i have the sylenth1 visible when the above mentioned happens.

If you are using an ATI Radeon videocard, you may need turn down Hardware Acceleration (under Display Properties->Settings->Advanced-> Troubleshoot) to "Disable cursor and bitmap accelerations".

Thanks Lennard, that workaround sorted it, but i can't help thinking that this is an issue more related to the interface of sylenth1, cause the rest of the elements (sequencer, other plugins) don't have any problem with full acceleration, hope is something that can be fixed in the future, not big issue, as the most important is the sound, and in this regard everything is perfect.
