This is my 1st post (ok, second, but I made my 1st like 5 mins ago) on the u-he forum, so hello everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR! :D I've been reading this forum for six months now because I was (still am) really interrested in Zebra. When reading here what really got my attention was how Urs seems to be very approchable and friendly and really offer 1st class support for his products. :tu:

Ok, so here's my question. I remember reading that Urs got a lot of projects in preparation and it's no real secret (like the Zebra thing with audio input or something?). I was just wondering if someone (probably Urs) could tell me what are they, near and far. I've tried searching but when you have no clue about what you're really looking for this isn't easy. Thank you!

p.s.: English is not my 1st language, sorry if my sentences are badly formulated and full of errors.

Hiya,

Thanks for your kidn words & welcome to this forum :)

I think I posted a list somewhere, but I can probably recreate it out of memory:

FilterscapeLQ (linear phase eq, free addition to Filterscape license)
Berlin Modular (modular synth with wires)
Dynamcis Bundle (like Uhbik, but compressors, multiband, transient stuff, de-esser)
Zebrify (Zebra with input, free addition to Zebra license)
A.C.E. (very special synth)
Drum Thing (funny drum machine)
Sampler & sample integration for Zebra (next decade)
Host environment (next millenium I think)

As always, no deadlines. I'm well known to postpone estimated releases by 1-2 years

Cheers,

;) Urs

Oh I see now where this is heading ;)

I'm just glad urs has a way of making sure early adopters get the best possible deal... Because I want to pick up everything he makes ASAP anyway! I'm afraid I was late enough to the party for Uhbik to be the only thing I could pick up at introductory pricing, but I have a feeling I'll be filling out the rest of the u-he section of my AUs anyway. :hihi:

Hey Urs, the Berlin Modular, I'm interested, any further details? Modules? Capabilities (Zebra is half way to being modular as is, so in what way will it differ and how much functionality will BM add)? Sonically what can we expect? Any idea of a rough release date?

Also, what's A.C.E.? :)

Post

A.C.E. is mostly a .pdf document at the moment. A prototype of BM does some squeaks and noises, but is far from working.

Enough with the drum machine teasers already! ;)

I'm in the market for a softie drum machine - sounds like it might be worth waiting ... maybe ... ... ... ???!!!!!!

Peace,
Andy.

Hmmm...being all mysterious on us eh Urs?

So we're just going to have to guess what A.C.E. stands for then?

Well I suppose A. could be Analog, or perhaps Advanced, C. might be Circuit, and E., Emulation.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Could you do a drum sampler WITH a beat programmer please. Seems like their either lots of sound capabilities with no beats, or beats with little sound possibilities. Ultrabeat is close, if I could just figure out that crazy interface... and get rid of the stupid grid lines in the beat programmer. Well, you get the idea anyway... My .02 :)

Pretty close.

Sorry, it'll take a year or two (+ two years extra delay).

@DHR53: Yes, beat programming is the central agenda of the u-he drum machine. The actual drum engine (sampled/synthesized) is less important...

My requests are admittedly Mac/Logic user centric, but I've never liked the matrix for programming drums, and the hyper edit... Grrrr! So if there isn't a need there, well, It's just me, but I'll keep on trying... :)
