Yes. Or actually, no. If I remember correctly, we (humans on earth) currently travel through time at the spped that we got used to. If you slam your head into the speaker at light speed, most of your body will travel in time at the same speed - while your head will be frozen in time for as long as it's traveling with light speed. If however you manage to speed up your head beyond light speed, you can travel backwards in time. So your head will be inside the speaker first and then smash into it.

What btw. really bogged me in Heroes was the stupidity that Ando could accelerate Daphne to run forward in time. But you can't just "choose". You can travel forward in time only by "waiting". Get frozen and be put back to life in 1000 years. Traveling forward in time is thus almost easy to accomplish.

Traveling back in time is most often based on a misunderstanding: Anything that's faster than the speed of light can travel back *in its own time*, i.e. it becomes a younger version of itself while at the same time the universe ages at normal speed. If you want time travel as in "visit guys from sequential circuits while they're building their first synth", you need a different thing: You have to accelerate the whole universe beyond speed of light, without yourself. Then your same old you will be in the past of the universe. This is very difficult to accomplish.

Not to take things completely off course, but I hated that bit about Ando too... It made no sense for Daphne to be able to choose to travel back in time to a specific moment and place, then to travel back. At the very least they could have made it so Daphne could travel back in time, where Ando would then "recharge" Hiro. Oh well... this is still a kick-ass season even if it does fall short in more than a few areas.
If you quantum drift into effect though youd have to figure for...

They're all 16 samples latency, which translates to 1/3 milliseconds in 48kHz sampling rate, or 10 centimeters of additional distance between speaker and ear.
My hope was for something more in the regions of around 4 samples.

While 16 samples may not be much for a single plugin a chain of Runcitter, Ambient and Flanger on a vocal or instrument bus add up to 48 samples (about 38 cm at 44.1 kHz) or another 1 ms of latency.

Again it seems to be not that much, but if you are monitoring through that bus while playing live or recording and consider latency of additional processing, audio drivers and AD/DA then it adds up quickly.

That's why you'll soon have Uhbik-X, building a rack of Uhbiks with a total of 16 samples latency.

Happy New Year,

;) Urs

P.S.: I'm at the very last bits here... might be finished tomorrow...

Ah, exactly the answer I wanted to read to the question I forgot to ask eventhough I already had it in mind.

I'm looking forward to using Uhbiks extensively on our next album. I also bought IK's CSR which should complement Uhbik Ambient pretty well (couldn't resist to the price of the Ultimate Mastering Bundle that sells CRS + T-Racks 3 Standard for only 139 Euro). :borg:

Just place my order. I was hesistant at 1st, not because of the quality of the product (I think you can't go wrong about a u-he product) but because I'm curently broke. But I can't miss that great offer (I think I'm at the deadline too). I'm so glad water is free here, because that's what will keep me alive for the month. :|

Oh, btw: HAPPY NEW YEAR Urs! :D

Ha ha... you've got company (...I was hesitant for exact same reason)! :D

Still, I'm incredibly happy about this one and it makes all the future "low-budget-meals" worth it later on.

Been working day and night... sheesh... there's always another niggle left to be fixed, huh?

I had to rewrite large parts of a very critical section of code... I'm currently having it tested... hope it works alright...

Unfortunately a little flu seems to be homing in on me... arrrrgh... and only 5 days left until vacation... I definately want to release before that...

Later,

;) Urs

Go, champ! :box: "Keine Schmerzen, keine Schmerzen!"

Nah, better have something left to send on vacation than working yourself to death.

Also it might not be good to be on vacation just after releasing something. Better wait until after the vacation so that you can give support in case something is buggy.

True. Maybe I just release a release candidate. Or something.

We'll see...

You'll be happy to know that you can process "true mono" now 8)

Release candidate sound good to me. Hopefully you don't lose too much money by having to wait. But most likely you'll get a heap of feedback during your vacation so that you can shelf out a complete and good working product afterwards.

Thanks for the Mono thingy! :) I just ordered Logic and will likely use that as a host for live performances (or better to say Mainstage) on the Slave laptop for vocal and guitar effects while the Master laptop will use Live for shooting clips, keys and drumtracks.

I will check the behavior of the Uhbiks on both Live and Logic in comparison and also give 'em a testdrive in Sonar 8, Reaper and Kore 2.

Time for bed now... zzzZZZ

Will the manual be included with the release candidate?

It's basically finished, except for some user interface stuff and surround options:

(and some captions are still not refurbished)

I've just take a quick look. Nicely done! Man I don't know how you do it! Writing code, writing doc, checking the forum + you have your friends and wife and surely other activities... Are you a cyborg or something, do you eat and sleep? You're a working machine!
