Flower Travellin' Band — Satori, Part I
Been on a bit of an early hard rock kick tonight.
They were probably the first hard rock group to come out of Japan, and certainly one of the earliest bands to release a Black Sabbath cover.

Haha… yeah, that's usually how I get suckered in, as well. Sabbath's contemporaries Iron Claw were known to cover them live, but IIRC, Flower Travellin' Band was the first band to actually release a Black Sabbath cover. Anywhere is pretty much a cover album (it has the cover of "Black Sabbath", and an excellent rendition of "21st Century Schizoid Man"), but Satori is their real masterpiece— a true gem of progressive proto-doom.
Their later material is great stuff, but it's a lot mellower and more prog oriented. Unfortunately, their recent reunion was a bit of an uninspired flop, IMO, so don't judge them by any recent performances.
