Thanks Audio-Geek, are you using the FXpansion wrapper? - I have RTAS Mac in the works, but not yet sussed out the surround stuff in PT...
The demo limitation are occurrances of vinyl-like crackles after a couple of minutes...

Really? Just tried in Sonar 6.2.1 - no luck...Urs wrote: I have only tested Surround with Cubase, Sonar, Vsthost on Windows so far, ...
It loads with that F%&$§_;/§ surround bridge and neither receives nor outputs on any other channels than stereo L/R. On top of it, audio drops out after maybe 30sec or so - doesn't happen on a stereo bus. Tested with D and F.
In energyXT, connecting the additional pins also doesn't activate surround channels.
It's not a biggy for me - just reporting my experiences - and they're awesome nevertheless! Looking forward to X...

Werner,
Have you tried "stereo-surround" modes? If the input material is stereo (thus has audio only on channels 1 and 2), you most likely need stereo-surround. You can however try the delay because the panpots go all the way round, i.e. in 5.1
Surround is always a difficult bag of issues. I try my best to accommodate each host, but I will probably need to write tutorials for each flavour of surroundishness...
(I think my Sonar NFR expired, otherwise I'd test the latest stuff again. Last time it worked, long before the current version, everything seemed fine.)

Nope, just magic. :pUrs wrote:Thanks Audio-Geek, are you using the FXpansion wrapper? - I have RTAS Mac in the works, but not yet sussed out the surround stuff in PT...

yes FXpansion of course
I don't do any surround mixing so it's not really something I'm interested in.
hmm. $99 I'm very tempted. I've spent way to much money in the past few days, not good considering I just quit one of my jobs.

Hmmm... I guess I never noticed if it is happening or maybe it doesn't happen? Well, I'll check later after I get a chance to download the latest release.Urs wrote:With some (all?) hosts on Win, the gui of the host and other plugins gets blocked while you drag a knob in my stuff... it unblocks right after releasing the mouse button...elxicano wrote:What freeze is this? ...I haven't had a single freeze or crash, making this the most stable beta I've ever tested... (I'm working through Live on PC).
Thanks for explaining!

Hi Urs - I've switched through all modes. It could very well be a Sonar thing - I've never been able to get a surround plug other than the included ones (Lexicon Pantheon and Sonitus compressor) to work properly in Sonar.
What about eXT? Is connecting the ins/outs enough, or needs the host to send any further "notification" to the plugin?
BTW: For quick testing you could download the Sonar 8 demo - until you'll get a new NFR (that shouldn't be a problem). The demo is fully functional for 30 days (15 without registration).

I could never encourage myself to Zebra but this set of tools is really great! My favs are Runciter, F and S (not much freq shifters around), nice EQ.
Thanks for making them available
edit: F tends to produce clicks on tweaking (seem random)

Dangit. I was resisting this, because some of the plugins just aren't stuff I care about.
But Runciter is nice, Uhbik-S is awesome and Uhbik-Q is magic.
I seriously don't understand why what should be "just another EQ" can be so fantastic... but I'm gonna use it.

Quick surround test in PT 8:
the Uhbiks are inserted on a stereo aux
On track input selectors I can see the extra pairs of outputs (3-4, 5-6, 7-8) from Uhbik
Uhbik A - setting any track inputs to the surround outputs gives me a squarewave
D - no signal from surround outputs
F - squarewave -12dB
P - Different squarewave -19 dB
Q - Different squarewave -23 dB
S - squarewave -19 dB
T - squarewave -25.4 dB
In all cases right clicking on main display and selecting an option had no effect.
When inserted on a mono aux in mono>stereo mode I get a blast of feedback out all aux tracks, even without doing any routing. The meters are pinned showing clipping even after deleting the tracks and making new ones. very weird.
dreamkeeper can you link us to the Sonar 8 demo? last I checked there was only the sonar 7 demo.

There's a problem with resizing in Orion. Orion do not resize the window plugin so if I choose "large" the plugin is crop. Same thing with Zebra. At 1st I was thinking it's an Orion problem but I can resize MFM2 without problem.

hey just saying; this beta RC1 stuff is trump tight so far. also for those worried about buying something in beta, urs' betas are like other companies final products.
it's not a microsoft type of beta.
it's a good beta. no issues here so far with stability, etc.

Yep, that is still so. Orion should work without that now from V7.6. Wavelab lite still needs it, as do some others...cain wrote:hey urs, to us that were having trouble with our host not seeing them do we still need to name the dll with the _2io in it?
