I'm finding it very difficult to write music with Zebra2.

Every time I start listening to the presets, I am so struck by their beauty that I don't get beyond listening and trying to see what makes each sound.

This is especially true with the two Skool expansions.

I have bought a bunch of synths this season, and I already had a bunch more. But Zebra is the one I most look forward to playing with every night. It's almost therapeutic to browse the presets and feel the beauty in them.

I'll never get anything done this way!

But, thanks to U-He for the wonderful tool. I am in love with it. I'll try to create something with it as soon as I can.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I've really allowed myself to get sidetracked with the various pieces of software I've picked up in the last year, exploring the instruments and sound creation and slowing down my actual creative output as a result. Between the great new soundsets for Zebra, plus getting Uhbik and Filterscape (which is in itself a major thing to explore), and Omnisphere, and various Kontakt libraries, and now suddenly becoming interested in FM synthesis again (resulting in a two-day foray into messing with demos for FM8 and Toxic)...well, I'm surprised that I've even finished as many tracks as I have this year.

I've pretty much decided that after I get the FM category covered, anything else is going to have to wait until the next CD I work on, otherwise I'll never get this one done. But at least it's been a fun sort of distraction.

My client likes Zebra2! My filmmaker client and I were going through cues I wrote for a trailer. I pulled up Z and he was like, "wow, what's that?" I said, "This is my new synth - Zebra." And we went through some presets and he kept plinking away at my MIDI controller and saying, "that's really great!"

So it's slowing down my writing but it's also distracting my paying clients!

Thanks, Zebra.
