Yeah but what if there's more audio later on ? That won't work then will it ?

I did a quick demo of what i meant.

EDIT: It's ABBA if you're sensitive to such.

Not tried, but clip effects should only affect the clip, no matter if the clip overlaps with others. It's not a matter of position and length, the clip FX only operates on its clip. This in theory...

SONAR allows flawlessly overlapped clips in the same track.

mabian wrote:One more thing: in recent versions of SONAR you can record knob movements as automation, so no need to know the parameter name, just arm all the plugin parameters for automation recording, start record, tweak the knob and an envelope is created for it on the fly. I strongly doubt it was there in SONAR 5 though...

Hope it helps,
Mario
Thanks Mario. Yes it is there in Sonar 5, I tried it and it works for the knobs, but not for the input control which is a drop-down.

So actually there is no huge problem with cranking up the feedback and wet parameters at the right moment, except the need to work out where [sample start + delay time] is in measures and ticks (the crucial bit of the speech sample inconsiderately doesn't start on the beat).

That's right, that's what I'm after (-after -after -after)

That also works in Sonar 5 (what did they add in Sonar 6 and 7 again?!!)

Urs, I'm pleased to learn that the good old input volume control will be making a comeback! and I look forward to the longer control names! I don't think the keyboard thing will work for me because Sonar is misbehaving and won't let me configure MFM2 as a synth - which I presume I would need to do in order to use the keyboard - and which is why I can't use the midi learn feature either.

Thanks again for all the help, it's great to know there are so many kind souls ready to pitch in with suggestions. Also interesting to note that there are at least 4 alternate methods of accomplishing the same thing!

You can however automate the keyboard control at the bottom of MFM2! When you record automation, a click in there creates an automation event for note and velocity. This is specifically for hosts that do not allow for MIDI->Fx routings. It basically fakes Midi notes using parameter automation!

Aha! I misunderstood. But why would you need to fake midi notes if you have parameter automation? Is it mainly in order to use the tunable comb filter? Or am I still missing something?!

That's one thing, yes. It's also needed to trigger MSEGs and Reset LFOs.

Oh! There is much to MFM2 that I have not yet explored.

So much music, so little time!
