Cannot see Sylenth1 in Vista x64

Hi,
I have installed the Sylenth1 x64 version on Vista x64. It was installed into the \program files (x86)\native instruments\vstplugins folder, which is my shared VST plugins folder. However, I cannot see Sylenth1 in either Kore 2 or in Ableton Live. In both of these hosts, I have tried to force a rescan of plugins. I have also tried installing in an alternative folder (and point the hosts to this folder) and tried to install in a subfolder to the VST plugins folder. All with the same result: Sylenth1 does not show as an instrument in either Kore or Live.
Any suggestions?
thx & br,
Jens

i use Windows Vista (32-bit) and i had to move the dll-file and the license file to c:\program files\vstplugins to work. This means that you should use NO SUBFOLDER for the Sylenth1.dll file and the license.dat file The rest of the installation remains in c:\program files\vstplugins\Sylenth1.
The problem is known i think. It was discussed here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight=

I guess you are right. I looked at http://www.lennardigital.com/modules/downloads/. There is written that you need a 64-bit CPU, 64-bit OS and a 64-bit host. Live so far is only available with 32-bit.auricle wrote:A 64 bit plugin will only be seen by a 64 bit host e.g. Sonar 64, Cubase 64 and Reaper 64. Both Kore 2 and Live are 32 bit hosts and so cannot see/use them.

OK - so it is the host (and not the OS) that dictates what Sylenth1 version to use. Does that mean that the x32 version of Sylenth1 should work fine with Kore 2 and Ableton Live on Vista x64?auricle wrote:A 64 bit plugin will only be seen by a 64 bit host e.g. Sonar 64, Cubase 64 and Reaper 64. Yes, the 32bit version will work fine in a 32bit host in Vista 64.spmadmin wrote:OK - so it is the host (and not the OS) that dictates what Sylenth1 version to use. For reference, to use a 64bit plugin, you need to use a 64bit OS AND a 64bit host.

I guess this will work. Maybe you can try the 32-bit demo and contact Lennard about changing the license to the 32-bit version if it works. But anyway choosing the right path for the dll file and the license file i also important. I mentioned that in the post above.spmadmin wrote:OK - so it is the host (and not the OS) that dictates what Sylenth1 version to use. Yes, if you want to use the x64 version of Sylenth1, you MUST have a 64 bit host (which will only run on a 64 bit cpu and OS).spmadmin wrote:OK - so it is the host (and not the OS) that dictates what Sylenth1 version to use. You can run 32 bit host application in Vista64, but then you can only use the 32 bit version of Sylenth1.
The license includes ALL available formats, you can simply download it and use you license again. No need to change anythingIngonator wrote:I guess this will work. Maybe you can try the 32-bit demo and contact Lennard about changing the license to the 32-bit version if it works.
