I'm too lazy to fire up the duel 5000something AMD (have to replug the mouse) but it worked fine using a CELERON  with MakingWaves as the host.
Might have something to do with the SSE implementation as used by AMD??
eventually I'll test later this evening

yes it did work ok on my celeron laptop (not my main DAW tho!)

Post

Celeron! Holy crap. Did it take 30 seconds to instantiate?

Post

no, not that long!!! maybe 29 seconds.. :)
(but at least it worked!)

Post

Thank you bootsie

hmmm 3 seconds... worth the wait
My host is fairly lightweight on cpu stuff. (why I use it still.)

2. Also why does the audio get crackles in it when tweaking the output volume for example?

-> output = 0dB
=> now tweak to 1dB and you hear a little crackle

-> continue tweaking (slow) in the range from 1db to 12db
=> all fine

-> tweak the output knob back to 0dB
->> as soon as you hit the 0dB mark => small crackle again? why?

Same with the Dry/Wet knob.

Also when tweaking the Dry/Wet knob and the Output knob a bit faster you can hear zipper-noise! Any chance to get them "sound" better when tweaking?
Seems the de-zipper won't work here properly, I'll put that on the list.
3. You can tweak all the time parameters also by dragging the numerical time-readout display. Why can't we do the same on the numerical readout for the output volume?
I just did not extended that knob focus to the display. Can do that if needed or wished for consistency.
5. Just found the first real BUG:

I can make the early reflection's time knobs to disappear once in a while! Very strange thing. A knob can disappear sometimes on CTRL+Click. Another click makes is re-appear. But
In which hosts are you working and does it appear? Can other confirm this?
Looks good. Won't run in Wavelab Essential, EnergyXT2, minihost, FLStudio8, Reaper 2.54.

AMD2000XP, 1gb, WinSP3.
All those hosts has been tested sucessfully during the beta and are known to work.

This is an CPU type issue and is the same with other reports here about Intel P3 and the AMD XP 2*** series (which took the Intel P3 SSE implementation (not SSE2)).

I will check that.
The one weird thing it's doing is every preset I select shows "AB: On" in the status bar in FLStudio, rather than the name of the preset.
To other FL users: is that a regular behaviour with eV in FL?

Runs fine in eXt v1.4. Why are all the presets 100% wet?

Confused
I'd say because reverb is most often used as a send? Personally, I'm glad they're 100% wet, for that purpose, although maybe the best thing is when there is a global override for wet/mix, like with AAR and the UAD stuff.
right, designed for the send bus. The global override was already implemented but had some serious issues during the tests so I had to remove it for now. Maybe it will appear in a later version again.

susiwong was so kind to provide all the presets at different mix levels (but just in vstpreset format) - it's downloadable from my site.

Works perfect in PT 8 as far as I can tell.
Cool, my stuff is getting more and more PT users these days :)
but it crashed Orion 7.61 on a Core 2 Duo E8500 and Athlon XP 2600
I had already some other problem reports on the Orion host in the past, but unfortunately I can't support this host.

just as an addition, Bootsie..
i havent had trouble with any of the other plugins you made. just epicverb with my amd xp chip.
Do you think there'll be a solution (or will i start crying now )
Anyway , thanks, it sounds great when i used it on my old laptop.
A quality reverb!

Just downloaded epicVerb and have been trying it out on different material. Just preliminary tests but to me it's obvious that we have something special here and I agree totally with bduffy; this is very good at creating subtle extra space and does not muddy things up. I have quite a few different VST reverbs [too many possibly]; epicVerb seems to be among the best..!
:D :x :-o :!:
Thanks, thanks and thanks again for releasing this Bootsie. You're truly one of the best [if not the best] independent FX developers at this moment!

Congratulations..!

Yeah, it seems to happen. Normally FL will show whatever parameter name/value combination on the status bar (by querying getParameterName/getParameterDisplay/getParameterLabel) when you use setParameterAutomated, such that when the user drags a control in an editor (which would typically use setParameterAutomated to notify the host), FL will also show the textual info on status bar.

So I guess you run a batch of setParameterAutomated for certain parameters when changing preset with the AB being the last one? If one does a preset change while recording, you get automation for "10sec", "HiQ1", "OnOff", "HiQ2" and "AB" so I guess those are the ones setParameterAutomated is used for? Seems a bit weird, so I guess it's a mistake?

I am really liking the plate algorithm particularly. The plate and stage presets which use this algorithm are very smooth and can be tuned to work with all kinds of things. Horn solos work really well with the plate model - there is nothing metallic or unpleasant about the sound and you can easily dial in the decay and frequency response to suit the musical context with the eq controls etc.

If it actually is what I think atm then there will be a hotfix out to the end of this week.

Indeed weird, I'll have to investigate that further. Thanks for the input!

Yeah, would be great.

I'm using Reaper 2.54 as host.

Sometimes the early reflection's time knobs also flicker for a short time on CTRL+Click. You see that on the 2nd early reflection's time knob at 1:03/1:04 in the video ...

FIXED (1.0.1)

Yes, but if you deselect "Record parameter changes" in the FL wrapper's extra options menu, then the status bar will show the preset names correctly. (But the parameter changes within the plugin (when tweaking knobs) will not be shown anymore though.)

So I think this is just how FL Studio 8 "reads" the parameter changes. With Blue Cat's FreqAnalystPro I have to deselect the "Record parameter changes" option otherwise the FL status bar will show a parameter change from that plugin constantly and nothing else...

So if this is FL Studios or the plugins "fault"??... No biggie for me anyhow.

AND... Thank you very much for this Reverb bootsie!! :)
