Hi folks,
this question is directly related to another thread (http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=237528 ), but I thought it deserves a different headline.
I want to do some basic MIDI event processing before the MIDI signal is passed to the plugins. Particularly, I want to reassign the channel of my keyboard and the sustain pedal to other channels in a programmable way.
I've learned about a device from midisolutions that should do the trick, however, with the receptor being a real computer, it seems strange to me that I can't do this receptor-side.
Any ideas?

My wish list for the receptor would be more MIDI event filter/edit options in each receptor channel. I would love to see the functions of MIDIox, a free PC MIDI event filter and mapping software (download at http://www.midiox.com/) on each receptor channel! The way that I am dealing with the channel assignment issue is through snapshots. Most of the music I do is improvised, so I have snapshots set up for a variety of basic sound configurations, leave my keyboard on channel 1, and use an M-Audio trigger finger to send snapshot program changes and turn individual receptor channels of and on as needed. This has worked pretty well, with minimal extra investment- the trigger finger was $125. I like the trigger setup-16 pads, 4 faders, 8 knobs. Having a separate physical controller for the snapshot and channel controls helps me keep things straight!

From muse's website (receptor 2 description): "...The MIDI filter's "patch bay" function: Re-channelize incoming MIDI to play other channels, as well as transpose incoming MIDI to play different pitches."
that might be exactly what I was looking for. So lets wait for the software update...
