I just tried the plugs , and I was not really impressed, can you explaian what are the cool, new things about these plugs ? how do they differ from my average ableton live or flstudio or regular vst's around ?

I dont see i big difference.

I would prefer some kind of new, innovative fx ala sugarbytes.

Something new than the classic , delay, flanger etc....

So what makes this plugs worth ?

I dont want to be mean or anything is just that i was expecting something cooler from the creators of zebra.

They're not cool. They're hot!

Compare each of them to any similar plugin in

- sound quality
- versatility
- surround support
- price

They only look as if they did the same as your average stuff. That's only because they're as easy to use. In case of doubt, read the manual for details.

I thought the frequency shifter would be a pitch shifter, since pitch is "frequency"

Nope, pitch is the base frequency of a complex sound with harmonics. Each harmonic has a distinct frequncy *relative* to the fundamental (1:2, 1:3, 1:4...). Once the frequency of the harmonics is changed absolutely (i.e. +20 Hertz), it's not 1:2 anymore but something disharmonic.

Pitch shifters change all frequencies by a factor, hence stuff stays harmonic. A pitch shifter is planned for Uhbik, but not yet ready to roll.

Cheers,

I tell you what pisses me off about these effects.....The amount of money I have spent upon other ones!
As a guitar player they hit the spot by being easy to use, great sounding with a wide range of sound mangling potential. It is no secret that Zebra 2 is one of the best sounding soft synths out there. I have just been trying them out against others I use regularly - no contest. Then there is the statement that when new ones become available they will be added to the team. Fantastic Urs!
Better get working on that Pitch Shifter all of a sudden I want one, especially if it is endowed with the usual Uhe sound quality.
Happy new year Urs. :)

I could not agree more.

These are amazing plugins.

The quality of sound is top-notch.

Hats off to Urs.

Congrats Urs ! This collection of jewels is just about the only arsenal one would need to make good music. Quality, subtlety, design, surround...Wow!
The reverb specially is one of a kind. Pure bliss.

I think the above summarizes it very nicely. If you got in on the beta promotion, then it is really hard to imagine better value for money. Even after that promotion, the value-for-money is still highly favorable.

I've definitely paid more for less than what's offered here... I actually want to unload a couple of FX in the market place, but am thinking it over since are already apart of a couple projects. Oh well... maybe later, but yes these are incredible for value, even at full price

And remember that there's more Uhbik plugins comming!

If you can't hear a worthwhile difference between Uhbik and the effects in FL Studio or Ableton Live, then they're probably not the plugs for you.

To me, they sound excellent, and effects of similar quality generally cost a lot more, so the quality-to-cost ratio is fantastic.

Math. I love/hate it, especially the way it sounds. :hihi:

Just demo'd these....

Very mixed feelings

I *love* the filter, tremolo, EQ, freq shifter.

The delay is Okayyy. Not the best, but very useable.

The flanger & phaser didn't really do it for me, but are cool for a very cold clinical kind of phase & flange. They remind me a lot of the GRM tools phaser. Unique character, but not always what I want when I reach for a phaser.

what I don't understand, however, is how URS could be *SO* close on the filter, but not include an LFO!!! Other than that, & perhaps a few more esoteric filter types (vowel, band reject, comb, etc..), it's perfection and I really love it. It's got a nice interface, easy to use, able to get some great sounds out of it quickly, and IT SOUNDS AMAZING.

Similar with the tremolo. Easily one of the best I've ever heard, very very cool plugin. BUT-- there's no visible way to conjure up a square wave

I was able to get some square-ish sounds out of it, but every once in a while, I want a *real* tight square wave tremolo. Very important, IMO.

All in all, I'm very impressed, especially for the price. I'm really sure that I'd buy if those features were present. However, without em, I way more reluctant to buy as the plugs' usability goes WAY down for me.

DJDJ:

-Uhbik-X is coming, and that will allow you to use an LFO on the filter (I'm hoping it will let me use an LFO to control the speed of a second LFO that controls the filter personally, to recreate an eventide effect I like called "jupiter reacts"...)

-To do a square wave trem with uhbik-T, just switch to to "pattern" and select every other box in the grid for the pattern you're using.

Thanks for the reply, Mitch, that's great news! & Thanks for the heads up on the pattern section of the trem. I may have to skip buying the soundtoys bundle after all!
