If there isn't a way, could this be implemented at some point in the mod matrix please!, have 'global tuning' as a destination type. Thanks
Improvements!

Is there a way to modulate the global fine tuning in Zebra, or does one have to assign a modulation to every single oscillator used?.

Hi all. . .
I would love to modulate a parameter so that each note I play changes the parameter to a different value. Sort of like the RANDOMIZE source in Omnisphere. I tried messing with the GATE source, but couldn't figure out how it worked.
Is this possible? If not, I'd love to see it in a future update.
Thanks so much for the great software!

- shape = rand hold
- rate = 0.0

You could try assigning "Keyfol" to modulate e.g. OSC1:Tune in the ModMatrix, and then assign an LFO to the "Via' source next to it. Set the chosen LFO shape to "rand hold" and sync to "Gate" mode. As long as the LFO cycle is longer than your longest note e.g. 1/4 or 1/2 or whatever, the signal it outputs will be random but continuous until you play the next note. As already pointed out a value of 0 also works for this.
The results are different to using only a random LFO value - and perhaps slightly more predictable - because of the the output is influenced by the keyboard input.
Another way would be to set up the same sources in a ModMixer module. You can influence the output of the ModMixer by adjusting the "Const" value, and also try out different algorithms.
Peace,
Andy.

I have an idea for a browser improvement.
It might be really tricky, though.
One thing I love about the browser in Live is that I can look inside a live file and grab individual tracks, devices, clips, etc and bring them into my current set.
In zebra, we have oscillator presets, which are really handy, but there are hundreds of presets that come with zebra, but only a handful of osc presets. What if we could reach into any patch in the browser and bring any module into the current preset?
There would be no need to tediously create osc, filter, comb presets, etc, because we could use the browser.
What do you think?

hi urs,
first i will thank you for the nice uhbik stuff. i like much how the a,q,f and the filter sounds.
but now i have a question. is there any chance to save the presets from uhbik and mfm2 also in the vst folder? i dont like important data on the c: drive. this drive crashes every time at first (its most used). also backups are easier for me. so i have only to backup my sounddrive.
thanks

Another vote for this. The current alternating layout looks stylish but is not very fun to use.Howard wrote: * Mod matrix strictly left to right i.e. Modulator>Via>Target (lose the labels at the bottom, then there's just enough room!)![]()

agreed... am never able to just pick and choose. I always have to check and see if I have it right (and sometimes I don't!)phazed wrote:Another vote for this. And by the way, after all, if you want to use them only from left to right, that your choice, but why should everyone have to follow you in this way?
Einstein said that a good idea is always symetric: if you can't revert it it is not good. I'm rather ok with that, especially concerning Zebra.
Concerning a bigger mod matrix, I would really like it, and personally I would suggest this: let it take place in the whole central area; after all, while you're working on the modulation, you don't really need the grid, and if you have any hesitation about something, you can go back to it in one click, so what's the point? I widely prefer to work with a few more clicks everyday than to have to make impossible choices between one modulation or another one
The world is small but the possibilities are vast.

The question isn't the functions of the knobs themselves, but where the knobs are placed in the layout of the 'modmatrix' GUI. It goes:
but it would be less confusing as:
Code: Select all
[target] (mod) (via)
(mod) (via) [target]
[target] (mod) (via)
(mod) (via) [target]
Code: Select all
[target] (mod) (via)
[target] (mod) (via)
[target] (mod) (via)
