Clocking Receptor to External Word Clock

Have recently changed my setup to include an external clock source and am just wanting to clarify the best way to clock the receptor since I'm using the 8 optical Dig outs. Had used the receptor as master clock in the past but am now using the SPDIF clock mode to tie into the external clock. I've noticed occasional digital spikes coming from the Receptor channels showing up in my mixer which I never had before so I'm just wondering if i should be doing something else. If I run the Receptor in internal clock mode I get little digital ticks in the audio so obviously it wants to be clocked to the external or be the master to play well with others.

I've just switched to LOGIC from DP so I don't know if that is playing into the issue or not. Would appreciate any input. Everything else in the studio is clocked to the external clock via the WC input terminals.
