Latency with 0404 USB

Guys,

Just looking for some info here. I'm deployed overseas and have my Receptor hooked up to my laptop (some Compaq 17" - 1.83 GHz dual-core, 3GB RAM, 250 Gig HD as I recall) via an E-Mu 0404 USB that I had shipped here.

I want to know - what is the latency you guys use? I can't quite get Akoustik Piano to be as playable as it is back home (similar specs for computer but using PCI Audiophile 24/96 interface) but I can't remember my settings from back home - I've been away for 8 months now... As well, it seems I'll get occasional clicks and pops even when the latency is turned up to something like 10 ms, and even when playing only Live's built-in instruments! (Like on the Dennis DeSantis demo set.)

Any advice?
