Hello Andy,

Just loaded 08 on (Win XP) Live 7.0.14 and experienced a crash after clicking on the kit selector... I copied the two kits into the Kits folder. Please let me know if I did this incorrectly

File paths for Kits:

C:\HGSounds\Kits\01 - Basic Kits
C:\HGSounds\Kits\02 - Percussion Kits

Ahhh no it should be:

C:\HGSounds\Black Magic Kits\01 - Basic Kits
C:\HGSounds\Black Magic Kits\02 - Percussion Kits

I may have made a mistake earlier in my description, sorry about that. The Kits will automatically be installed along with the samples in the final release. I'm making a start on all of that today.

Got the kits working first time - after reading everyone else's problems :hihi:

Whilst going through the kits got a strange quirk that if I cycle through the basic kits using the down arrow control I only get kits 1 to 4 but if I use the up arrow I get all 8.

With the percussion kits using the up arrow gives me 8 kits (the _default + 3 blanks 5-7) and the down arrow gives me kits 1-4 as expected

Off for some more testing...

No worries Andy... I had just woke up when I did this, so maybe its my fault on that one. I'll correct it in a short while, but have to get some work done first.

What is the purpose of the Kits folder?
I made the same mistake earlier.
Maybe get rid of Kits folder for final release.

There is still some latency for me using the B3 Sequencer playback. Its not as much as before roughly a 16th note in EXT2 and about a 32nd in Renoise. Tested by playing back at 10bpm in EXT2 & 30bpm in R2

Single notes triggered from the piano roll, my preferred method, seems spot on.

CPU is generally 2-4% on my Q6600 occasionally spiking to upto 50% when using the global randomise button but generally just doubles.

No crashes & no glitches except the deliberate ones.

Off for some more testing...

ahhh, I was hoping that would be fixed, it works great in SX when I last tried.

Can you do me a favour?, put some swing on and see if the swing is happening on the correct beats. Is it permanently out of sync when looped or just the first time?

Before I delve too deeply, what are your swing settings? Not something I've really used before :oops:

First time is more out of sync, say about a quarter note, then it settles down and just stays slightly out of sync. I'll leave it running for a while tomorrow but I think it stays permanently out of sync.

I've found that by using the restart transport button in EXT2 that I can sometimes get it in to sync that way, about once or twice in every 10 restarts.

:) Just up to about the second notch is enough, the best is when at half clock tempo and set to the 4th notch. The first note of the bar should be on normal, then the second has swing and so on...

Don't worry about it too much though as from what else you said it seems I have to do some more testing... I'll do that tomorrow, I'm working on more samples tonight.

I've just uploaded 3 new banks of samples to the files page, Guitar, Bass Guitar and Instruments. To make the most of these in a musical sense a tip is to hit default on the Pitch section (Mixer Panel). Mod Sequencer may also need turning off if it is affecting pitch.

There are some presets to demonstrate in the next version.

The samples are in Black_Magic_Samples_2.rar, just extract to your Drum Samples Folder, hit refresh files (or reload BM).

I've just found another bug, the overall pitch is actually 1 octave lower than it should be, fixed in the next release.

Yeah, saw that too when loading my own kit. So far it is very stable on my side, a lot more stable than previous version on both FL Studio & Mu.Lab. :)

Still hunting for bugs...
