The latest issue of Electronic Musician has pics and an ad for NI's new Maschine; a beatbox-style controller with software. That may be the new producer offering. On the back cover, MOTU is showing a similar product, but it looks like it can run standalone or with a computer.MitchK1989 wrote:I hope someone makes a daw better than logic (this could be ableton live if they fixed a few things with automation and such) since logic's the "least of all evils" in DAW land at the moment... I'm not terribly happy with any of them.
I also hope NI's new offerings for guitarists is NOT another cut down version of guitar rig, and that the producers offering is a brand new synth.
What are you looking for at NAMM 09?

NI's new stuff.
The stuff IK is hinting at.
The stuff Squids has been hinting at from Sonic Reality.
Melodyne DNA.
Spectrasonics' successor to Trilogy.
Gmedia S.O.B.
I'm sure that's enough.

A couple of things I'm interested in....
Ableton and Cycling a making an announcement. I'm praying for surprise cakewalk announcement about their vaporware super-synth ( LOL, I'm dreaming on this ). I'd like to hear what NI has to say. There is a rumor going around about a new Access. I'm curious about the new Spectralis.
I'm also interested in getting an all around vibe, for how music companies see the current market, and if the global financial meltdown is holding up new product releases.
One thing is for certain. I've seen tons of plug ins on sale recently, major price drops from one company and another...

The first thing I'd look for is a bathroom near the door.
Nothing else matters if you have to go.
