There is that company Kyma is working with, they want, $5000? +- a few dollars, for their controllers. Somebody ought to knock off that stuff, and give us controllers like that for 250. The technology is so there. Its not like you would need to invent that.

LOL, nah, I think we know a native TI isn't apt to show up on the scene anytime in the near future. I just meant the next version of the TI hardware. More powerful multi-segment envelopes (and more than just two of them), a few more filtering options, and new oscillator models for the basic VA waveforms with more balls to them would be cool additions.

Any hardware VA would have to be pretty awe-inspiring to lure me in at this point, though, just because having all my synths available within NI Kore in my DAW has become so convenient. (I recently opted for Discovery Pro instead of a Nord 2X just because I didn't feel like having to deal with an external synth again - just the thought of working with that 3-character LED and editor/librarian software made me feel TIRED).

I'm going to bed before I wander off any further on a tangent in a thread that's supposed to be about the NAMM show, LOL.

I have a very big feeling(and a well founded one) that this NAMM will be more about evolution rather than revolution. Although I have learned of a few new products that are being released(some of which sound very interesting). But most of what I've heard "in hushed tones" seems to point at refinement and improvement on current lines.

Then again, there may always be a few surprises! Around 24 hours and more will be known!

I had actually heard the same thing, that Apple won't be there any more. They have their own conventions now.

I confirmed it though the other night when I went through the entire floorplan of around 1500 companies(making my maps and putting my plan together), and Apple was nowhere to be found. You can see who will be there on this page:

It's a big interactive flash map, so it may take a while to load. There is a list on the left side you can open to search for a company. Most software companies are in Hall A, with a few in Hall E.

Anyways, I don't know why that all matters. But suffice it to say, Apple won't be there.
