Nothing wrong with that.A bit off-topic, but V-Machine is getting some serious and mean competition.

I'm not saying it is, I just think that this will outperform V-Machine in every way, unless V-Machine's CPU upgrade would drastically improve performance.VSTinus wrote:Nothing wrong with that.A bit off-topic, but V-Machine is getting some serious and mean competition.

Has anyone tried SampleTank on the V? And by trying I mean lots of layers and/or splits inside Sampletank. How does it perform? I haven't registered my V yet and therefore I havn't been able to mess around with Sampletank (since the SE-version that was in the box is not registered), just the basic presets that came with the V, and they contain no layers or splits inside Sampletank.
I am a registered owner of Sampletank XL, so my patience is really getting low. I've had it on my desk for over a month without being able to try it with my main software.

The full Sampletank on the CD is what is already on your vmachine, I installed mine and the presets are the same, you don't get any extra by installing....

The version on the CD is Sampletank SE and you have to register it to make it work properly in VFX. I don't want to register it yet since I haven't made up my mind whether to keep the V-machine (I haven't paid for it yet). This means I cannot edit any of the Sampletank-patches i VFX.
If the challenge-response-thing started working in VFX I could try my own Sampletank XL.
Isn't there anyone out there who have built some Sampletank-patches of their own in Sampletank SE and exported them to the V??

i am on a german pc and tried the truepiano wizard with some tweeks. i can load the dll into the vfx software and the vmachine can load the dll and i can see all parameters at the vmachine but there is no sound that comes outside the vmachine. but i will try some hours more...
for me the vmachine has enough power. ich can play the preinstalled piano, have some epiano plugins, some clavinet emulation and organized trio. zebra is working too. i like my machine very much !
i dont like that smproaudio stated that i can free my plugins. there are freeware plugin that dont work. the customer support was very good before christmas......

Customer support should still be very good, always.. if you have any issues then let me know (as far as something which I can help with). What I can say about NI is that we are in full discussion with then (we have been for a while just could not say anything) about the best simplest method to install/authorise thier plugins in the v-machine, it is not an issues of them working or not.. just how to install. Hope to have more news about this soon.mäxchen wrote:i am on a german pc and tried the truepiano wizard with some tweeks. i can load the dll into the vfx software and the vmachine can load the dll and i can see all parameters at the vmachine but there is no sound that comes outside the vmachine. but i will try some hours more...

You should be able to use the SAMPLETANK 2 (your version) and all other IK products as of next week.janka wrote:The version on the CD is Sampletank SE and you have to register it to make it work properly in VFX. But I don't understand what you mean you cannot edit the sampletank patches at the moment, in demo mode it still lets you edit the sounds and patches and save it as a preset.

Happy for competition, that is what makes us all better, but please, let's wait for the unit to be out, we are talking minimum 6 -8 months by then.. well I can't really say much... we will have some other units out and upgrades.DragonSagoth wrote:But a CPU upgrade would fix it

MuseBOX.
Below 1k$ and I think a way faster CPU will be in this one. Bit more expensive than V-Machine, but I think it will run Pianoteq like a charm (knowing that old Receptor did that really well).
Let the games begin!

I didn't even think of the demo-mode so I haven't bothered installing it. I feel like a DUMBASS...VFXAU wrote:You should be able to use the SAMPLETANK 2 (your version) and all other IK products as of next week.

Thanks Danny, I'll give it a try tonight.

It's impossible to open Sampletank SE in VFX on my Vista-machine (Swedish version). "Registry read error, please make sure this program has been installed correctly". I have tried to install it several times without any success.

Have a look in the vfx log file which will give you clues as to what is wrong.ptsound wrote:MatthewSkinner wrote:Hi,
Spent hours yesterday trying to make truepianos demo work.
I've tried again today going through your 2 step directions(listed above)
I keep getting an error message:
ERROR FUT481
Anyone get this working yet?
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME HERE\Application Data\vfx
look in that location for a file called vfx.log which is wiped clean each time the software starts so look in the file directly after any problems.
My guess is that 1 of the following will be an issue..
1. /Documents and Settings/your user name here/TruePianos Settings/default.fxp file does not exsist, check that it does.
2. you may need to ensure there is a few blank lines at the end of the vfxinfo.txt file by pressing enter. If the last line does not have a carriage return then it may cause an issue.
3. use the latest firmware and vfx software.
4. the vfxinfo.txt file may be in the wrong format from being cut and pasted from a web browser. be sure to paste by going to the edit menu and selecting 'paste special' and then selecting unformatted text.
The plugin works very well on the Vmachine once you have created the default.fxp file as instructed in my last post.

You installed it on your computer without any issue at the moment?
(you tested that it runs in another host?)
If it works in another host please let me know the exact PATH of the installed files you have.
Regards
Danny

These are the folders:
C:/program/Sampletank2SE/
C:/program/Steinberg/VSTPlugIns/
I tried to create the folder "C:/Program files" but Vista tells me the program-folder already exists (in the Swedish Vista-version "Program" is equivalent to "Program files"). In XP it's possible to have both of these folders ("Program" and "Program files" but apperently not in Vista.
The SampletankSE-plugin itself works fine in other hosts on the same machine.
I tried to work this out by running XP on my virtual machine on my Mac but VFX freezes all the time. By the way, any news about a Mac-version?
