hello again,

i tried te truepiano wizar-file from matthewSkinner. i adapted als the paths and user names and the vfx imported the plugin without error. in the vfx software i can play with the virtual piano-keyboard of the plugin and i can hear piano-sound. what i mean is that the trupiano-trial works in the vfx software. but when i save the plugs and banks folders to an usb stick, plug it in the v-machine the truepiano plugin is detected and i can see all parameters but when i play at my real keyboard no sound is comming out of the v-machine. and te "task-bar" at the v-machine display
i dont know what more i can try, so i will quit. if there are any ideas outside what i can try more - i will be happy.

If the plugin is showing on the Vmachine and you can veiw all the parameters in the plugin then it should work. Plug the keyboard to the computer and see if it triggers the plugin. It may be as simple as changing your midi keyboard to use midi channel 1 as you may have it set to ch 10 or something like that.

Check the gain (or volume) off the plug in on the V-machine. Sometimes it's level is zero when you load from USB stick. Just a guess.

thx for your hints.
i cant plug my keyboard to the vfx-application, because i have to run it on a virtual machine. on my "real" vista, the 40 day test period of truepianos has expired. and my virtual machine does not see my keyboard. but i will check midi channel and volume :) and i have found some mistakes in my wizard.
i keep on trying !

IT WORKS!

i had some mistakes in my wizard ! now i understand what this wizard does.
this piano sounds very nice at the vmachine. i dont know how much voices you need but for me its at the moment enough !

now the full version (which i own, thats why i tried the trial to see how much power the vmachine has) should make working. will send an email to 4front...

I found out that with TruePianos demo, if you hammer the keys a bit hard for Forte dynamics, the V-Machine clips even with just 4-5 voices...not good.

Hello Max,
Can you please give me an idea what changes or additions you have made to Matthew's wizard.( if you're still using Matthew's?)
I have been trying for days and have followed Matthew's instructions but still can't import the wizard file to VFX(1219). I keep getting the error message.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help me with SFZ please?
It doesn't load my SF2 files.
I import SFZ on the VFX, load a SF2 file, save, import everything into my V-Machine, but SFZ doesn't load my SF2 file!!!

You can download the wizard file and instructions from here..

also in the readme file you will find instructions about the vfx.log file, open this file and let me know what is causing the problem. If you cant understand what is going on in that file then post a copy of its contents here.

If the issue is a file the wizard is looking for is missing or a path has been typed wrongly then it will show up in this log file.

If your only getting 4-5 notes polyphony then you have not followed the instructions correctly on how to get this plugin running. I have not found the limit to the polyphony yet even with fast and lots of notes held down.

Also if your getting crackling when hitting the keys hard it may be that your overloading the convertors and need to turn the mixers faders down. The Vmachine has tiny audio level meters as well as a cpu meter which is shown on its screen.

maybe i can help you. the problem is, that my wizard gives error now too. i tried so much :). but i will have a look what i changed. what i red at smpro homepage: have you intalled truepianos-trial at your "C" hardrive. C is important !!!!

@ala5t0r: i tried sfz too and had bad luck. i have one idea what the problem can be. maybe i will find time to have a look (but i am only a user that trys some things).

If you look in the banks folder you will see a xxxxxxx.CHUNK file. Open this file in wordpad and scroll across until you see the path for the SF2 file. You need to re edit that so that it matches where you place the file. The chunk file is what tells this particular plugin what file to load and where it is located.

for example if the plugin is in a folder called USB DRIVE:/plugs/sfz/sounds/mysound.sf2

you would need to edit the location from the c:/ location to p:/sfz/sounds/mysound.sf2

and this file must be in a folder called sounds in the plugins folder.

I hope that makes sense.

Why dont you try looking at the samplelord wizard file and readme file as it will give you hints on how to get this plugin running the same way. As by using a symlink you can eliminate the need to edit the chunk files. I found SFZ to crash a lot for me so if you find the same then try samplelord.

Can anyone try these synths on V-Machine? Most of them are shareware (OLGA for example has a keyfile, the registered version).

ZD6 runs fine on the V-Machine - even with an additional FX-Plugin.

tickyClav works fine here.
Other synth from Algomusic are preinstalled on the v-machine so StringSynth SHOULD work (but i havent tried this) but i can try this at home in the evening (if i dont forget it :) )

Thank you, I can finally import Truepianos Trial to VFX without error using Matthew's latest wizard and instructions:

All seems to be exactly right BUT once put on USB stick and into v-machine
there is no sound.
All faders are up, other vsts work so midi should be ok.
No sound, no cpu or level meters working on V.
I'm sending this message to Matthew as well.
Getting closer... hoping my V-machine will go to it's first gig this week.
