Glad you like it, the trouble with Play is that it only plays back the recorded loop, if none was recorded in the current session, there is nothing to play. I think what you describe here is what the B2 Key does in standard mode, is that what you mean?
Yes, if I use B2 in piano roll it pretty much acts like I would expect. About the only advantage to having Play activated by midi note would be that it would allow you to jam live over top of the internal loop (assuming of course that the 'play mutes live' behaviour was changed). The ease of dragging loops to the host makes it pretty easy to jam over a loop anyway so I could live without this 'play by midi note' feature quite easily.
Just select Normal for the Midi Mode on the Sequencer Page, I kept the old behaviour which is much better for sequencing Does that cover your needs?

Very nice. I never noticed that before. My needs are covered with that for sure!
Wow, that's interesting, I hadn't thought of dragging loops directly in! I'll see if I can add custom graphics, but I'm not sure if that will be possible via SE SDK, I might be stuck with Windows stuff at least for now. If it sells, I'll be developing it with the VST SDK which will open up many new graphical possibilities.
Dragging works great and I'm not even sure what the 'open' function was originally supposed to do; just open the folder the loops are in?
From an intuitiveness perspective, my immediate thought was that this feature would open the folder, load the selected wav into the internal loop player and then the window would close. As it sits now, every time you press the open button another window opens and double clicking a wav file opens it in Windows media player. You can end up with quite a few open HG Sounds\Recordings folders. Maybe this is related to the currently broken open behaviour which you will be addressing in the next beta.
Well the Play was only designed for auditioning the loop you just recorded, not for this purpose but it is certainly an interesting idea I guess if I added a midi trigger to play then that could mix instead of muting, so the GUI behaves the same, perhaps velocity could control the volume?

If this was implemented, I do agree that velocity would be a good way to control volume. If you do allow mixing instead of muting, then a play volume knob might still come in handy for those who are using the GUI and mouse.
Regardless of where this feature is headed; right now when the internal loop is playing, it's level is fixed at whatever level it was recorded at, I can't turn it down or up even with Master Volume. Is there supposed to be some way of controllinjg this that I am missing?
One strange thing that popped up while testing is the Rec Volume knob spins a lot better in Tracktion than any other knob. Ie the sluggishness I've been mentioning is hardly present on that knob!

One thing that I may be not quite getting:
If I set the record length to 1 bar in the Master, and each pattern to 32, then the resulting loop when dragged (or imported)into the DAW will be 2 bars long. I realize that you must mean "1 full sequence", but it's a little unclear once the DAW is involved.
I would have to set each pattern to 64 (unavailable in BM and would be playing too fast then imo) in order to have a 1 bar loop when dragged (or imported) into the DAW. I am pretty crappy at understanding tempos, beats and divisions so I may be confused more than anything. Perhaps it is also related to record synch feature which I don't quite get. Your description follows:

Finally you can change the tempo of each sequence so that some play at half speed for example. Bear in mind that the top setting for Record Sync will selects the sequence between 1 and 5 which is used to drive the Record ON/OFF, so if you make that sequence a 1/2 tempo then the Recorded Bars will be twice as long.

Demos:
I'm having too many problems with trying to use the free Home Grown vsts, so I'm probably going to need to use other vsts with BM for demo(s).
Hope that's okay. I was hoping I could showcase just Home Grown stuff.

One more thing to add. Tracktion 3 with beta 16.

Pressing the Filter Cascade arrow in Master page gives me 100% CPU spike and loss of audio. Nothing happens right upon pressing it, but as soon as you hit any voice\pattern button it happens; if BM is running\playing it will happen instantly.
I can remove and re-load the BM Vsti (wihtout having to restart DAW) and it will start to work normal again but the Filter Cascade problem is duplicatable every time.

I'm experimenting the same problem. In Live the CPU Mark goes over 400%.

Top horizontal menu for LFO and Gapper:

LFO: Repetitive clicking of D on LFO menu triggers R in lower LFO display causing shape and tempo to change to various.

Gapper: Repetitive clicking of R on Gaffer menu has no effect on lower Gaffer display.

Also: Is there a way to export text of entire thread rather than copying and pasting all 18 pages to a document?
I need to read through it all and make a temporary manual for myself.

Try to reinstall Live. That's what I do when something weird happens in Live, and sometimes works..

Alex. :)

Thanks alexfalcoa... I'll do this tomorrow. I gave it another try and had the same crashes, so I think thats the best idea for now. 8)
