I'm glad you brought that up though, I may revert! All HDMI are the same as for results...there was a pretty good news report about that a couple of months ago here.
When you listen to music...

A very good post. When reading music café posts, I often think we KVR people are a bit strange sometimes. It is like a man or woman that gets paid for lecturing books. By getting professional, you loose the ability to read sometimes, but are great in explaining why "this part has too many short sentences".eduardo_b wrote:Do you just enjoy it or do you find yourself analyzing the mix, how they did what and how you would fix it. I know as an editor I typically find myself able to read for enjoyment until I come across things I would never have allowed through. It's distracting. I find myself doing this with music more than I used to. Doesn't seem like a good habit.
On the other hand of course, if you listen to music like you were working in a mastering studio, you obviously avoid getting muddy mixes and so on.
Still, two things are bad for music, one being to just pretend you "love" exactly the music the fashion-scene loves (changing monthly^^), second forgetting about the music because we are maniacs to polish and polish our mixes.
So a very good post, eduardo_b

This is why I think many of the issues that are taken so seriously here can obscure what really matters about the music. In seeking perfection, or what is as close as we can get, the assumption is that the music can't be enjoyed fully unless it's just right. Listeners know nothing about these obsessions and don't care which version they're hearing if they enjoy it. They're not saying, I wish they'd used a different compressor or reverb setting. Ironically, they get to enjoy the music for what it is, while those who create it often cannot because they are busy tinkering, tweaking and fretting over every little setting and sound.Klemperer wrote:forgetting about the music because we are maniacs to polish and polish our mixes.
