Will uhbik G be able to do diatonic pitch shifting? (that is, pitch shifting that tracks the pitch of the input and follows a scale rather than always being a set number of semi-tones?)

Or will it take midi input to pick what notes to shift to? (or if there's no pitch tracking, just using midi to change the shift amount)

I'm trying to find a plugin that will let me get effects similar to "anthems for a 17 year old girl" by broken social scene. Emily Haines (of metric... She's also done some softer solo album stuff) did guest vocals on that song, and the harmonizer on her voice sounds sublime, and later in the song they start messing with the pitch of each harmonizer voice in a very interesting way.

Maybe I'm completely off and a harmonizer type plugin isn't even the proper tool for this

EDIT: I know uhbik plugins aren't meant to be extremely feature heavy and in depth, so this topic now has me wondering how awesome it would be if there was a u-he product specifically geared towards pitchshifting, harmonizing, and grain effects... Like it would be to grains, pitches, and formants what MFM2 is for delay... *Drool*

It all depends on the refinement of the algorithms. If all is well, then yes, you'll get all sorts of Cher effects. If certain algorithms are more difficult to fine tune, then it may be possible on certain material but not all. Otherwise it'll just be verdsatile pitch shifter with pitches down to zero and even negative values (reverse grains).

We just delayed our flight back to Berlin by a week though. I'll be at it in February (together with X and Zebrify).

well, I wasn't looking for the autotune cher effect

Either way urs, as far as I'm concerned I already got more than my money's worth with just the original 8 effects for $99 USD. Anything added at this point is just an extremely kickass gift that will also hopefully bring others into the fold.

Will you have to pay Akon to license the Cher effect?? :hihi:

Hey Urs, looking forward to any new additions, but already happy w/my 8 as well.
