Post

thanks piz - and double thanks for supporting mac

Post

Well, that's mad. Great. But mad. You should make a drum vst*.

Cheers.

hmmm, maybe i'll do that, if i ever think of a good idea for one. right now i can't. however, if i have time i also want to make a "percussion" bank for mr. alias 2... unless someone else does first.

i also need a more impressive demo song, and soon i'm hoping to start a "guess which synth is analog" thread featuring mr. alias (vs. borderliner and steiner microcomputer).

Alas, neither Borderliner nor Microcomputer is available anymore, so there's no one for Mr A2 to compete with.
He's got more muscle anyway though

the only real complaint is that mr alias 2 uses up to 25% of a single core on a q6600, which is over double what NI massive in ultra mode maxes out on. highly unoptimizized

Post

Wow, even more Mr Aliasy goodness. I've using #1 a lot recently and I was actually going to make a post thanking you, and here you've left us all a nice present. So thank you (in retrospect) for #1 and (in futurospect*) for #2, too.

* vocabulative aliasing

that's what makes it sound twice as good as Massive.

yaaaay linux version ftw!

Post

The Intel AU FX version seems to crashing Live 8, while the Instrument version is fine.

As soon as you touch a GUI control, Live locks up.

Post

i made some secret updates to the AU version shortly after releasing it, so if you downloaded it early, try getting it again. otherwise i'll try to check it out tomorrow.

there will be an update soon, with somewhat better performance. i'm also experimenting with extreme fft pitch shifting (with imitation aliasing) for the audio input, but it sounds pretty bad.

It would be cool if the audio input triggered the oscillators. The ol pitch to control voltage thing.
