my eeepc901 has been my main music machine for the past 4 months.
the issues with the integrated realtek soundcard and asio4ll have been solved with the release of a new bios and auio driver.
i run asio4ll at 512 buffer rock solid.
the performance of a 1.6 atom is the same of a celeron 900mhz. enough to run 4-5 visti and few effects....some freezing and bouncing obviously required to finish projects.
audio software on eee and other netbooks (user reports)

u should find it much cheaper than 300 btw...and get the touchscreen kit on ebay.

Happy 900 user here. Making beats with Live and Renoise, and doing some notation while on the road with Musescore.

Thanks for the heads up on the driver/bios, _starcraft_. I'm looking forward to getting ASIO4ALL to work properly. (I'm running a 900 as well)

Don't forget to get upgrade your ram to 2 gigs 
(it's so cheap these days and it's worth it for the performance increase)

unless u use huge sample libraries of course....but huge sample libraries dont even fit on the hard disk space hehe
