forgot about this thread
my eeepc901 has been my main music machine for the past 4 months.
the issues with the integrated realtek soundcard and asio4ll have been solved with the release of a new bios and auio driver.
i run asio4ll at 512 buffer rock solid.
the performance of a 1.6 atom is the same of a celeron 900mhz. enough to run 4-5 visti and few effects....some freezing and bouncing obviously required to finish projects.

download the bios and audio driver from the asus website as the upgrade utility still points to an old version .Mushy Mushy wrote:DOH!!!! You just cost me £300_starcraft_ wrote:forgot about this thread

Happy 900 user here. Making beats with Live and Renoise, and doing some notation while on the road with Musescore.
Very nice little machine.

Thanks for the heads up on the driver/bios, _starcraft_.
I'm looking forward to getting ASIO4ALL to work properly. (I'm running a 900 as well)
ps you might have fun with this: (you'll need a midi loopback utility)

Don't forget to get upgrade your ram to 2 gigs
(it's so cheap these days and it's worth it for the performance increase)

u need to download not with the asus upgrade utility but directly from asus website....as the utility still points to an old bios version.rpc9943 wrote:im downloading the latest bios and audio... hope it doesnt crash on me

i wonder if it will be as silent and low heat as the flash drive.
