I don't use Omnisphere but it sounds like an excellent upgrade indeed! On the other hand, it's more of an update than a 'Point O' release (the upgrade from Atmosphere costs $249). No, it's not tons of cash, but they're not endearing themselves to me...
Also, its more than Drag and Drop for the upgrade. You've got multiple Novation device support as well as XY pad automapping! Very cool indeed!
