Channel Mute Automation in T3 with an MCU

Hello group,

On page 73 of the manual, there is a solitary mention of automating channel "Mutes". It reads: 'track info mute button' may be automated yet the 'Main' mute can not be automated.

It seems odd that each channel's (or "Track's") Mute button can not be automated from the track lane or via Mackie Control. I'm trying to switch back and forth between a few treated snare drums & I can't do them one at a time within the Track Focus window at the bottom of the screen. I am hoping to do them via the MCU's Mute buttons.

Simple question: Is is possible to automate MUTEs via Mackie Control or by using a mouse on a channel's "M" button?
