The only thing that would make it better would be a signal diagram printed onto it below the control section.
The signal diagrams are highly confidential... otherwise some random competitor could use it as intended: As a tool to hand-tune delay coefficients in various types of feedback delay networks and allpass delay networks. ZRev was only made available under the premise that certain parameter meanings, units and diagrams are left undocumented :shock:

:P
Wow how very scifi

@tinkerpixel:

Looks nice.
Can we try it?

@Urs:

Don't bs Urs...
Just admit that you are in some point being abducted by aliens...
[That's would explain how "some piece of code" can sound like
yours instruments/effects sounds]
Revealing diagram would be violating the agreement...
[And even might lead to some probing... Again!]

:hihi:

ps

Urs;
why only 2 lfoGs in zebra?

Because nobody uses them. Instead people only use voiced ones. They do this so they can complain about lack of free running lfos in the traditional sense. Which the global LFOs are :-x

:hihi:

Post

Hmmm...
Combining ["lfoGlobal-ing"] only 1osc-1vcf-1eq-1rev/delay; could [does] lead to some beautiful "random" scapes, drones... For me "all" beauty of zebra is in this [only 2!] lfoGs, and almost all of my patches includes both of them.
4-5-6... of them with 64steps [bigger {popup/like info} edit window] each would be... hmmm...

single note; 1osc-1vcf-1eq-1rev-2lfoGs sample :

Aww nuts. :) I understand completely though. At the very least we get a free reverb! If we can't get a signal diagram any chance of at least saving to .h2p?

Post

Hey Urs, any chance you could implement free running lfo's in Zebra? :D :lol: :P

nice sample

I hope the hype around Zrev's GUI might make Urs want to make it support preset management ;)

Post

I like the grey one a lot, but I would lighten the background behind the modules a lil bit to enhance the contrast.

cheers! :)

+1 for .h2p preset saving; although .fxp works fine.
This looks nice, but the bright reds hurt me personally. Couldn't you make a version with another (colder) colour (like a pastel green, light brown, or something) that is more eye frindly?

----Seems almost a little odd at this point that Urs hasn't gone for a full/pro release of Zrev, considering all the attention it inevitabley gets when someone buys Zebra and finds it ha-ha. But isn't one of the umm, Uhbik plugs a reverb ? Seems like he's already made a 'pro' stand-alone verb then eh. (And yeah, I never had much if any luck with the stray Zrev myself, but it sounds fine inside Z2, whatever it's doing and however it's controlled/programmed/algorhythmed eh). :D

I just use the patch randomizer. I've gotten some really cool atmospheric stuff that way.

Looks cool. I would love to see it in green also. Like an old retro monitor.

+1 for a brown/amber/gold/grey version.

I like the red version too, but mainly the main tab : the XY tab has a little too much contrast, if i dare to tell ;)

Post

The red version is fantastic. It would be so great if it was possible to make the red glowy areas around the XY's move with the position of the cursor (as if it was illuminating them). I know - not possible but nice to imagine :)
