Hello everybody!
I have recently bought my receptor pro jr. and I am starting to use it. And i have discovered this web, and I am learnig a lot. Thanks to all!!!
Here is my first question.
Can I control the receptor mixer with a external midi mixer? I think is easier to take to stage my midi mixer, and control the 16 receptor's mixer channels via midi mixer....is it possible?
Thanks!!! See you.

The challenge with your scenario is routing. The MIDI equipped mixer that I have in my studio only allows me to send information on one channel using different CC's to control software functions. The Receptor format requires control messages for volume, bypass, etc. to be sent on the midi channel that corresponds to the Receptor channel. If you can program the faders and knobs on your midi mixer to send on separate channels you are set! If not....you will need to get creative with using a MIDI filtering/routing program or piece of hardware like the one MIDI Solutions makes. I use an M-Audio trigger finger to control bypass, volume, and program changes, as well as fro triggering samples and playing VSTi's. It's an inexspensive, small, and versatile control unit.In terms of ideal control, it would be fantastic to have a small 16 channel MIDI mixer with a fader, mute/bypass button, and knob or four for each channel. Good luck with getting your setup together!

The answer to your question is a simple "yes" - it is possible to control the Receptor mixer with a MIDI control surface. Its easy.
You definitely want to take a look at the chapter in the Receptor manual titled "MIDI control of the Receptor Mixer." It will tell you what you want to know. The sliders, buttons, and rotaries on most MIDI keyboards or control surfaces can be programmed to send whatever CC you want on whatever channel you want. Get yourself a keyboard with programmable controls and you'll be set to go. There's lots of options out there.

Greg Holmes wrote a great freeware plug that may help. Here's a link to the thread:
