This is a Receptor specific question but the principle would be the same if connecting two keyboards to any device. Can it be done ?
At the moment I use a Kurzweil K2500XS as a master keyboard to access the sounds in the Receptor and also soft synths on my hard drive that are not yet "Receptorized", such as Korg Legacy. The Kurzweil has some great sounds in its own right as well as a 88 note weighted keyboard, and the sliders allow me to fade in and out the channels if I have a Multi loaded.
I am considering buying a Yamaha Clavinova CLP 370 digital piano, primarily to use as a piano, although I may want to use it to control the Receptor as well. Is there a way of connecting both the Kurzweil and Clavinova to the Receptor, so that I can use either keyboard to access the sounds ? What I will need, I assume, is a MIDI switcher with two inputs and one output - does such a device exist ? Or do I need to "daisy chain" the two keyboards ?
Any suggestions as to how I could connect both keyboards would be appreciated !
By the way, does anyone out there own a Clavinova CLP 370 or similar ? If I do buy it, I will have to sit the Kurzweil on top of it due to space restrictions. Is it strong enough to support the Kurzweil ?
Thanks for your help.
Peter

The easiest solution is a small MIDI Merger module, 2 in 1 out.

Philip Rees have stopped manufacturing these but you can find them on the used market.

Or use one kwyboard USB I/O and one MIDi I/O works great, but I don't know if your chosen controllers support it - if nit, a Midi merger will work, or see if the Kurz can merge via the midi in port (it may only output via the THRU but it may be mergable in VAST...
