You can download some here and help with the testing if you like.

If you have any issues then please dont post here, but instead open a help desk ticket at ........
Thank you for the link to the IK Wizards. I'd been searching for them and looking for them at both SM's support site and the official SM product site.

Currently the only wizard for IK Multimedia products at the SM Pro product site database is the Sampltank 2 SE one. The only reason I posted the question here is a few pages back there is a post from VFXAU saying that the IK Wizards would be uploaded in a day or so. Thank you again for the link.....

we can test.. Lin Plug Saxlab certainly works.
Most softsynths are intended for keyboards, very little works good with windsynths. I know some of your customers failed with Wallander and the samplemodelling requires a state of the art CPU and soundcard, you can stuggle with a 2.0ghz Core 2 duo, so I have my doubts.

Weve tested WIVI trial and it is incompatable with wine. It crashes due to bad direct3d support for the graphics. If the plugin vendor wrote a version with no fancy graphics for the vmachine then it would probably work. So you should contact the vendor and let them know this.

Hi.
One problem with the VB3 organ for me, is that you cant get back to the original preset(after you change it) or your own settings without reload the plugin.
When you play VB3 in your pc there is in options a reset, but in V-Machine you cant do that.

Martini
Hi Martini,

are you speaking about the global settings? I was speaking about the drawbars, percussion, leslie.... but maybe the global settings are the reason the chunk doesn't work, because VB3 maybe resets all parameters (and hence going to the default preset and reloading the plug) when receiving new global settings from the chunk. I'll do some tests....

Hi Danny, Mathew,

here are some wishes for next releases:

* The VFX Application size and position. For me it's just a little too big, 95% of the actual size will fit my monitor, or a maximize button. Also it would be great that the program remembers its last position.

* The V-Machine should remember its global settings after powering off.

* Import/export to stick the whole machine in the V-Machine, not on the VFX Application. Otherwise the edits on the V-M (learn, save...) can be lost and should always be redone.

* Access to a LOG file from the V-M. It will help to know why a plugin loads in the VFX but not in the V-M. Otherwise we are blind here.

* Does the midi_transpose already work? If yes, how?

wivi can be switched to opengl, probably doesnt help this situation tho...

i have told arne about v-machine. hes a very cool guy and id bet at his earliest opportunity he will be looking into this, its obvious that gui snafu aside wivis lean power requirements could be a very good match for v-machine.

Thank you for the suggestions, will add them to the list, regarding transpose, if you open the vfx text file in each preset you will see a transpose setting, it is not on the screen (vfx application) as yet but the V-Machine supports it.

hi from Vince
I noticed that someone posted a Music Labs Real Strat wizard...I have Real Gtr by MusicLabs...how much of an ordeal to create a wizard by using the Strat wizard as a template?
BTW...SAMPLETANK WIZARD ROCKS...THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post

Sampletank and Amplitube works GREAT! Nice work!!!!

The Bank/preset-navigation in the V-machine is a letdown however. Why not make a listview of all banks/presets and a "choose"-button so that you must make an active choice for a preset to be loaded? Right now it's a nightmare trying to locate a bank/preset. The wrong ones start loading all the time. This just won't do in live-situation.

I know, I know... but the question was: how does it work? I wrote -12 to have one octave down and nothing happened....

We have a long list of work still waiting for us :-) but step by step everything is being implemented. Thank you for the support.

WIVI has 3 graphics modes (they're set in an external application):

Direct3D, OpenGL and Software Renderer

Btw, WIVI and the SampleModeling instruments don't use real physical modeling. They use instrument samples as a starting point.

"WIVI solves many of the problems associated with sample-based instruments. For example, divisi is automatic, spatialization and environmental control are handled at the instrument level, making it easy to create the performance soundstage without the use of additional reverb and, since no samples are involved, CPU and hard disk requirements are minimal."

he samples instruments for analysis but from there on hes into some kind of magic.

Post

WIVI is an additive synth, Arne analyses the instrument samples and breaks it into discrete sine waves (resynthesis), which are then added over time to produce the timbre of the instrument.
