Can anyone recommend a really good guitar site for riffs and twiddly bits? Something with audio, or video examples and tablature - and a good signal to noise ratio.

Look on the Lessons channel.
If you register (it's free) you can also download the tabs and/or charts - otherwise you only get the video.
You have to watch a commercial after every few videos, but it's not that long or annoying.
Also just check You Tube. There's millions out there.

Cheers for the suggestions I'll take a look at those
(llatham - I have already tried the youtubes, but it's a bit hit and miss, there's the long load times and to say that there's some variation in quality would be an understatement!)
