Good idea Olivier! That will be usefull...I like your workstation BTW and many of your packs. Is the new perc pack having some Impact percussions as well as the world stuff?...I mean dramatic hits etc...otristan wrote:Oohhh ok.noiseboyuk wrote:Thanks Oliver - I think you're missing a trick. IMHO all you'd need is a "loop" button and the ability to auto play WAVs - no need for slicing etc. At the moment I need Sonar's Loop Explorer for WAVs - why not get all that extra custom by offering it all in one place?!
If it had these basic features I'd use it by default, and would be more likely to look into the soundpacks! Oh, and +1 for standalone's midi file comment.
Just my $0.02.... nevertheless it's certainly a nice looking product and I wish you all the best with it.
The sample preview in the browser should be doable.
Thanks for your report.
I am using your workstation on a big job right now because it works so fast and it sounds good...it's really well done...I have to give you my compliments!
Bravo pour le beau travail!

Unfortunately, there is no Taiko drums and stuff like that(big cinematic drums) in it.ozmoz2008 wrote: Good idea Olivier! That will be usefull...I like your workstation BTW and many of your packs. Can I suggest to you some future packs?otristan wrote: Unfortunately, there is no Taiko drums and stuff like that(big cinematic drums) in it.
1- I would make a more cinematic one with hits like that and some Marching band sounds etc etc...Your workstation work so well I would buy them as soon as they are out!
2- A pack base on voices too could be nice...
3- a Celtic one
Is the Ircam solo instrument downloadable as well?...Could do smaller Packs from it so I could buy the instrument I need when I buy some with the price adjusted subsequently?

Regarding 2 and 3, you can take a look at MOTU Ethno (http://www.motu.com/products/software/ethno) which sounds are compatible with UVIWorkstation.ozmoz2008 wrote:

It's a big package but if you need ethnic kind of sounds with instruments and loops, it will fulfill your dream.
Ircam Solo can indeed be downloaded through the uvisoundsource website.ozmoz2008 wrote: Is the Ircam solo instrument downloadable as well?...Could do smaller Packs from it so I could buy the instrument I need when I buy some with the price adjusted subsequently?
Regarding splitting of the Ircam Solo, this is not planned.

I was looking at that thing...I have plenty of world libs already (EW, Best Service etc)but it's always interesting to hear other things...but I was thinking of something instantly recognize by your player...not another VST...It may be compatible but is it as easy to use as your packs?otristan wrote: Regarding 2 and 3, you can take a look at MOTU Ethno (http://www.motu.com/products/software/ethno) which sounds are compatible with UVIWorkstation.

As for voice I also have plenty...but I never have enough of these...so maybe you should think about it?
As for separate Packs...it would make them easier to download in smaller packs and also more affordable....(look at Zero-G formula for packs)
I think these are good suggestion...at least think about it
Thanx for your support!

I'm not with UVI, but I have MOTU Symphonic Instrument. All I had to do was put a shortcut to the MOTU Symphonic library in one of the UVI directories, and now I can use all the instruments with the UVI workstation. I haven't opened the MOTU Symphonic VST in quite a while. It was an easy thing to do and it works like a charm. The UVI workstation has quite a few more effects and features than the old MOTU player.ozmoz2008 wrote:I was looking at that thing...I have plenty of world libs already (EW, Best Service etc)but it's always interesting to hear other things...but I was thinking of something instantly recognize by your player...not another VST...It may be compatible but is it as easy to use as your packs?otristan wrote: Regarding 2 and 3, you can take a look at MOTU Ethno (http://www.motu.com/products/software/ethno) which sounds are compatible with UVIWorkstation.

It's my understanding that MOTU Ethno would work with UVI the same way. So essentially you could buy MOTU Ehtno and it would essentially work like buying a library for UVI.

You just need to put Ethno sounds file in the UVISoundbanks folder.ozmoz2008 wrote: I was looking at that thing...I have plenty of world libs already (EW, Best Service etc)but it's always interesting to hear other things...but I was thinking of something instantly recognize by your player...not another VST...It may be compatible but is it as easy to use as your packs?
It requires the Ethno application to be installed though.
After that, you will be able to load Ethno sounds(both instruments and loops) directly inside UVIWorkstation.
Can't be more compatible
Sure thing.ozmoz2008 wrote: As for voice I also have plenty...but I never have enough of these...so maybe you should think about it?
We have smaller packs, like Acoustic Grand Piano, Classic Electric Piano, CP Electric Grand, Solina... Those are around 40$-60$ozmoz2008 wrote: As for separate Packs...it would make them easier to download in smaller packs and also more affordable....(look at Zero-G formula for packs)
The IRCAM Solo is just particular because of the IRCAM collaboration.

Thanx for the specifications...i didn't know you had some outside collaborators and contracts to respect with Ircam product...otristan wrote:You just need to put Ethno sounds file in the UVISoundbanks folder.ozmoz2008 wrote: I was looking at that thing...I have plenty of world libs already (EW, Best Service etc)but it's always interesting to hear other things...but I was thinking of something instantly recognize by your player...not another VST...It may be compatible but is it as easy to use as your packs?

Regards,
That is cool for Motu integration...so basically a simple short cut and it's done...that's great!
I Will check their libs....

Please don't tell me UVI is back to their old behaviour by letting people (read: me!) buy their libraries, only to find out they are rendered completely USELESS (unless you are fond of a broken workflow) because so many of the presets have a CLOSED lowpass filter on them by default!
And NO WAY to change that other than going thru all the sounds and saving them in a new place.
This is sooooo stupid. Please fix this first before sending me any of your library announcements would you!!
Next time if a frikkin STUPID thing doesn't work as advertised tell me UPFRONT instead of letting me buy the sounds that I had ages ago in Plugsound already!!!!!!!

Care to give some details ?
You can edit many synthesis parameter in UVIWorkstation including filters, Amp, pitch and filter env as well as LFO mod and stuff like that, so please enlighten me regarding your issue.

Are you talking about PlugoundPro soundbank ?sbackdoor wrote:Isn't it clear what I'm talking about?
Lowpass filter 3, closed. By default. On LOTS of presets.
Useless.
Could you give us some presets path and folder ?

You're not telling me you don't know about this are you?
A friend of mine and I "upgraded" to the PlugsoundPro library and Synth Anthology at the same time, both coming from using all Plugsound plugins and Ultrafocus in the past.
He has already emailed USB about this and got a reply that it a knows issue and was being worked on. So why do you need me to list presets in which this is happening? It's a LOT of presets.
Use an AU version of UVI with mentioned soundbanks and you'll see for yourself. Very annoying and a great insult to my wallet.
