Ok, I understand now, will try it out to see what happens as we treat VSTi in a different way to VST's.mon8169 wrote:I've tried putting the VSTi in the FX channel and the result is the same. If the DLL let's you have audio in and out then it is ok, but make sure it does.
Patience... we start again....
What I try to do is:
Use the effects from the plugs that have the normal dll and the fx.dll. This plugs are specially done to be able to use just the effect side of the plug. Ex: B4, VB3, Mr.Ray mkII and many others.

Ziokiller knows how that works. He is using the VB3 leslie effect with the V-Machine and he is playing his hammond organ through the V-Machine. Check out his youtube video.

Very easy: use the VB3fx.dll (the fx variant) in place of the normal instrument VB3.dll and put it on a track as you would with any other instrument. The only difference is that you can now turn both audio inputs on (click on the L and R symbols). This way you can use VB3 as a regular instrument and as an effect processor at the same time.
Even if it's compiled as an effect, the V-Machine still treats it as an instrument by sending the MIDI stream into its MIDI input.
As far as I can tell, the V-Machine makes no difference between instruments and effects, except for those loaded in the FX channels.

As far as I understand Ramon also wanted to run it as an internal effect on another VSTi and was not able to do this as yet.ZioKiller wrote:Very easy: use the VB3fx.dll (the fx variant) in place of the normal instrument VB3.dll and put it on a track as you would with any other instrument. Nothing easier... put the source instrument in slot 1 and the effect in slot 2... I don't see where's the difficulty... Audio coming from slot 1 goes into slot 2 and so on, so on each channel he can put 1 instrument going into 2 effects, or 2 instruments going into 1 effect, or 3 instruments playing together or on different channels, or 3 effects in a chain... there's plenty of flexibility (as opposed to CPU power...).

does the full version of VB3 work with the V-Machine? I see a bunch of the "what works" plugins are demos and I would like to get a V-Machine & VB3 to use as a portable organ module.

Thanks, I finally got it working... but it wasn't that easy.ZioKiller wrote:Nothing easier... put the source instrument in slot 1 and the effect in slot 2... I don't see where's the difficulty... First, if you use the instrument in slot 2, the VFX mutes or bypasses any other instrument on slot 1.
Second, the difficulty using the fx.dll file was importing the file, because it automatically uses the same folder as the instrument and ruins the vfxinfo from it. Now, to solve this I've moved the instrument folder, and have created a diferent one for the fx, editing the vfxinfo file.

The simple reason that the Demo Wizards are up:Aulis wrote:+1schoko wrote:no more Demos, please ...please give us the real stuff from NI....VFXAU wrote: B4 and pro53 wizards for demo is up
1. show that it will run on the V-Machine and how much CPU power these actually use (which is very little).
2. NI and VFX are working on the easiest method to authorise the plugins to the v-machine as they use a challenge response with hardware authentication method. This is in the final stages and should hopefully be out soon.
Same as we did with IK and every other vendor we are working thru with these methods of authorisation.
We are trying to simplfy it by having the software authomatically detect the plugin you want to install and do the rest for you.

Hi,
Does anyone know how to remove a plugin from the drop down menu in the VFX Application?
I imported a plugin that crashes my computer everytime I try to select it so I'd rather not have it in the plugin list.
Also my M-Audio Radium 61 midi controller doesn't work when I just plug the USB into the the V-machine... I actually have to plug the midi cable in too.
It powers on via usb but I'd like for it to function as well via usb... anyone know how to do this?
Thanks.

You would remove the plugin from the plugin folder itself, delete the actual plugin foder with the offending plugin name. It is in your VFX directory in Application DATA.
As far as the RADIUM keyboards, we have tested all M-Audio keboards, they all work properly via USB or MIDI so please check your settings. Have you tried another USB keyboard to make sure all is right with the USB cable.

Where can I find the VFX directory that holds the Application DATA?VFXAU wrote:Hi,brain4000 wrote:Hi,

I went to C:\Program Files\VFX on my computer and it doesn't have the application data in it. My vst plugins are located in C:\Program Files\VstPlugins but erasing it from there would remove it from my computer of which I actually use the plugins on.
Also does the Sample Tank 2 SE play soundfonts(sf2)?
