Yup, I figured that out and had an awesome morning with Mdrummer controlling Battery...

...that came to a bittersweet end now that the Live 7 project I put it in does not open. Just hangs with a never ending hourglass. I just tried it one last time and I did notice there was a blank window open that said, "This version is registered to..."

The standalone launches. I'm on Windows XP, Live 7.0.7. It's a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a 2gighz Core Duo, 2 gig of ram and a MOTU 828 interface.

Any idea of what the issue could be? I should probably move this to another thread... I am... posting... here.

Hi there,
aaaha now I understand. I thought (from your email) you cannot open the MDrummer editor when you close it. So I'll try ASAP.

Anyway can you open another project and put MDrummer into it?

And did anyone experience similar behaviour?

Aaaha, found it. Live tries to pump MDrummer with nothing :-)))... Another interesting behaviour. Where do the host developers get ideas for such nonsense :D...

Well, it seems that another update will be needed.

Fixed!!!

Please install the update - since it is a minority one, it is available only via Update manager (start menu, just run it and it will do everything necessary). Please let me know if it works, except in 4 hours our company vacation will start, so it needs to wait for next 5 days. But I hope this will help ;-).

Cheers!

Yeah, I don't know about development, but making sure it plays nice with live is probably pretty important. I imagine it's the most popular DAW at this point, but I could be wrong.

As for updating via the start menu... I don't have a menu and I can't find a single thing that says "start" at all.

OK, I remembered that it looked for new versions during the install process so I just reinstalled it and it found the update and it worked. Thanks! Just made it in the nick of time! Have a great vacation. So far this looks great...

I will say that from a UI standpoint that I appreciate it on some levels but going too far away from basic Mac style does make things confusing. Why not have a basic application menu on the top? It's UI 101 yet it seems that most developers avoid it like the plague. Your users already learned how to navigate all the apps that use these conventions. Piggy back on this when it makes sense.

Great!
For everyone : see MDrummer FAQ. I've explained the ways you can update our software (among others...).

Well, I know our GUI does not follow all standards (it's intentional, we just want to make some progress), but there is always space for improvement. What exactly are you suggesting?
