Those Juno samples definitely make me think of the Synth Squad.

OK then. Just the very first sound (all others I heard there can be easily cloned in Zebra, but it would be a complete waste of my time!):PaulSC wrote:http://www.unease.se/juno.htm

BTW: Zebra's filter sweep is not naturally steppy, but for the sake of the clone, I "stepped" it a bit using the wonderful Mod Mapper

Even with all work you've done, z - sounds higher and crunchier. That's exactly what i was talking about -- digital
P.S. Howard, are you working for U-he?

That is a close enough emulation that the difference is academic. I do hope you turned off the velocity sensitivity and also aftertouch cause the Juno had neither!Howard wrote:OK then. He'll help out during Musikmesse and for further user manuals though

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm hoping Howard comes back and says his link is actually the mp3 from the Juno site just shortened. Nothing like the ol' placebo effect.pdxindy wrote:That is a close enough emulation that the difference is academic.

It's clearly missing a touch of oscillator instability, and the original has a bit of nasty clipping/noise either from the Juno or elsewhere in the recording chain. I consider H's replica to be an improvement in both areas.bmrzycki wrote:I was thinking the exact same thing. Before the flame of emulation warpdxindy wrote: That is a close enough emulation that the difference is academic.
I don't mean "digital" is bad at all (It's horrible for my ears, but it doesn't mean bad for someone else). There's way more people listening to Rank 1 or Cosmic gate, rather than to Legowelt or Riders Of The Lost Arp (you know, what I mean)
[edited, since Urs is here] P.S.S. thanks to Urs for snippets in vst code archive. was very helpful back there.
