Well well well,

Are there any Pro Tools Mac users around here?

Cheers,

;) Urs

(slightly OT but) will there be RTAS PC versions too?
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Sure, some day... I think I've written somewhere that I want to spend the summer months working on support for RTAS PC and Win64. Not that I really *want* to, but I think I could. It's not that particularly urgent though as my stuff seems to work fine in the VST-RTAS converter on Windows. Unlike on MacOS X, where my stuff mysteriously isn't compatible with the wrapping technology.

I just tried the Uhbiks with PT8 (M-Powered, 8.02 on OSX 10.5.7) with mix results. They work for the most part on stereo tracks but mono version are not available. So no Uhbik bliss for any mono tracks unless you do some creative routine, at best a PITA.

Also the UI controls are over sensitive to mouse or wheel moves. Makes it hard to tweak. Quite different from the smooth operation experienced when using AU or VST versions.

Is the early March BETA the latest RTAS build?

Much thanks,

Doug

Thanks Doug!

I've contacted DigiDesign for advice on the multichannel issue, but no luck so far. The one issue I have solved is the Bypass bug where bypassing would result in weird feedback.

I'm not quite sure as to why the mouse would behave any different from AU/VST within the RTAS gui. The code is essentially the same. Hmmm... can you explain what exactly happens?

I'm currently in the process of implementing quite a lot of changes in my UI code (which has resulted in much more work than I expected), so there is no new build until this stuff has left alpha stages.

Later,

;) Urs

Its like the controls are overly sensitive to mouse movements. I tried Uhbik-P in AU Lab and in PT. in AU Lab adjusting one of the large knobs "feels right". Fine adjustments are easy and large ones possible with quick mouse movements. In PT the same movements act as if the mouse was set with too high acceleration. A bit "out of control" as it were, making fine movements harder.

As a sanity check I placed both on screen at the same time. I moved the same control over the full range in both using up/down mouse movement. In PT the mouse would cover less of the screen every time to accomplish the same control change. The difference was that the mouse had to travel about 30-50% further in AU Lab. So its like the mouse sensitivity has been increased in PT.

Ah... gotcha!

I suppose in PT you also can't directly click the values on the rim of the knobs and stuff... sorry... my bad, I have forgotten a simple little flag in the RTAS project settings... will change that asap!

Thanks,

;) Urs

Hey Urs,

I've been using UhBik RTAS very successfully in PT8 under 10.5.7, and they sound SO GREAT!!

Thanks so much for these..

BTW, is there a new build available that fixes the bugs above?

Thanks,

Gaetan
