XMF click bug?

The XMF when used as an oscillator with click will sometimes (like one times out of eight) produce a significantly louder click than the other times. Is this by design or is this not supposed to happen? I would really like it if the click remains a constant level.

Hmmm... can you send me a patch to urs at u-he dot com?
The click should definately be spot on same volume each time you trigger a note. Will look into this!

I get similar behavior if I use the Vintage Filter 2 as VCF 5 or 6. I'll send the patch right now.

Hi,
I'm just trying these.
Justin, I'm flabbergasted - I have never noticed this and it's definately not intended behaviour.
Mans, I have listened to the patch but can't hear any differences. Can you render .wav for me? Does it happen in a sequence or also when playing live from keyboard?
Btw. I'd recommend to try Voice Drift and Attack Smoothing set to [off].
Later,
Urs

Strange. I've rendered a 4 bar sequence 6 times but the 'bigger' click is not there. If I let the host play the sequence, or if I play from the keyboard, it's there clearly however.

Strange, indeed... which host are you using? Maybe I can reproduce it then...Mans wrote:Strange. I've rendered a 4 bar sequence 6 times but the 'bigger' click is not there. If I let the host play the sequence it's there clearly however.

Ah, yes, you've written that in your email...
I've got renoise here... any chance you can send me a project?

If you want to i can try the patch to see if i have the same problem. I'm using Renoise 2 too, but i'm on a Vista PC. Never noticed any clicks while using the XMF filter, and it's my most used filter.

Just out of interest Mans, could you try rending a sequence of notes with the clip at different BPMs. Particuarly doing one at 120bpm, and another at say 133, and see if the pattern of the clicks randomness changes between them (or indeed becomes a regular pattern.
I noticed a similar issue with using MSEGS set to very very fast slopes when modulatin the cutoff and I'm wondering if this is of similar behaviour.

For some reason when rendering the file the clicks are not there but I could try to play the sequence at different speeds to see if this changes the behaviour.Arksun wrote:Just out of interest Mans, could you try rending a sequence of notes with the clip at different BPMs. Particuarly doing one at 120bpm, and another at say 133, and see if the pattern of the clicks randomness changes between them (or indeed becomes a regular pattern.
