I wouldn't sweat it. Many Tassman patches kill my 2ghz dualcore so I can't see it working that great on a V machine anywayschoko wrote:not true....? It's march 2009 now....VFXAU wrote:on Dec 17schoko wrote:I asked AAS about their opinion concerning Tassman support on the v-machine. The answer:
"Hi Bjoern,
There is no way at the moment to use/install Tassman on the V-Machine.
We have yet to look into that, probably in the course of 2009. Thanks
for your support and patience.

Maybe I should wait fot the Muse Box as a mac user - will have more cpu power and will be able to install plugins without a pc... it's really a pity, I had so much hope for this box to become my next live solution
unfortunately the muse box seems to look quite ugly and too big - the v-machine looks cool and is small - in fact it would be the best if someone took the hardware of a mac mini and add some knobs for monitorless control - there's a core2 duo in there, 2gb ram and is as small as the v-machine - why's there only 1ghz processor in v-machine? and why still no mac support?

This is what the team has been concentrating on and why no other PC updates have been done, we already have a Beta version out with some users. I think by end of this week I will make sure it is up on the website as well.SoftPlayer wrote:When will the mac version of the vfx software be out? I can see "mid of february" on the site - does that mean mid of february 2010?
Unfortunately there's no way so far to load custom plugins as a mac user, which makes the v-machine as well as useless... I've been waiting now for over three months for the vfx mac release - any hope that it will still come at all?

The reason why I din't brought it back is very simple: Everytime you ask somebody at sm pro audio, you get infos like: "maybe next week" / "coming soon" / / "by the end of this week" / "the only thíng we are waiting for is the final o.k. from...."mäxchen wrote:
but if you are not happy why havent you brought the v-machine back to the shop? if i buy anything and it do not work as described i bring it back and get my money back - easy.
but i can understand that you are very angry!!!

schoko, do you REALLY think that a 1 GHz CPU will run Tassman SMOOTHLY? Man, I don't think so. I really don't think so.

Of course it will: The reason: I only need mono-synthlead voices for my windcontroller. And my patches only contain very simple Physical-modelling structures which need about 5-10 % cpu on my PC....DragonSagoth wrote:schoko, do you REALLY think that a 1 GHz CPU will run Tassman SMOOTHLY? I totally agree with you. Still waiting after one month to get a new firmware version that allows me to save the changes made on the VM and not loosing them after turning VM off.
I am very dissapointed with the VM, as I expected this product to be more finished and more user-friendly. Also the sounds dont convince me, after years using ROLAND equipment, I feel no VSTi reach this quality, specially for live gigs.
I am a musician, with basic knowledge for PC and VSTs. Don t want to spend much time on computer. I play live and, today, I am still not able to perform this VM due to delay when changing presets in a song (I've tried everything, included instructions by technical staff on SM PRO).
I dont recommend buying this product at all. Sorry, it's my personal opinion and case.

And just what does that have to do with the V-machine?

Yes. Its more worthy to buy a simple sound module (Roland or any other brand) and get better sounds with less trouble and same price. No programming, no wizard files, no hardware and firware problems...easy.
I play mainly funk music, with clavinets, pads, hammonds, lead synths.
The idea of the VM is good, but, for me, it does not work at all.
Good luck for the rest of you !

WHat sounds do you want? have your tried it with Lounge Lizard?
Or Pro53, Or MinimoogVA? You don't have any hardware problems, we never did have hardware problems, you can change the sound for ever!, you don't need to program anything, all the sounds you are talking about are available and are easy to load. I agree, maybe not as simple as a normal sound module, but you only need to load it up once and then maybe 1 year later change the sound if you like.
