Scarbee and New Receptors

Good morning,

I'm trying to ascertain whether Scarbee's vintage keys collection, if bought today, will install and run on the newest receptors. KVR lists Scarbee's compatibility as unknown, and I've seen some posts here regarding issues with the effects portion.

I saw a "tutorial" sticky post, but wasn't sure if that was still up to date with changing Receptor models and (potentially) changing Scarbee versions.

Thanks for any guidance - my Receptor is in the mail!

(Sampletekk's pianos work fine, too, from what I've read - certainly let me know if that's not the case)

Scarbee VKG bundle (Vintage keys and effects) both work great on my Receptor rev C. I'll be getting my newly upgraded Receptor rec C (now Receptor 2 Pro) back next week if all goes well. I will be trying to reinstall the Scarbee stuff, along with everything else, as time allows. If you have not had an answer by then, I'll let you know. I expect things will work just fine.

As long as Kontakt 2 (3?) works, the Sampletekk pianos should work just fine. I've been running them on my rev C as well.

Great - I'll look forward to hearing from you! It seems like enough folks mention using it that it wouldn't be a concern, but would hate to purchase & open only to encounter problems. Plus, KVR lists its compatibility with Receptor as unknown.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to beat Tom to the punch. I have installed VKG Effects, and it works fine.

I am in the process of going through all of the VKG samples now, so far, these seem to load and play fine in Kontakt3. I do however notice (general) random reboots when NI software is active (see below).

Regarding Receptor2 in general, I seem to be having lots of stability issues. I see many random UI reboots. The system log also is inaccessible (eg. broken symbolic link), so I am finding it difficult to debug things or even 'point fingers' at specific applications. I also seem to be having many unsuccesful reboots.

In general, things are zippier. I hope to do a more scientific examination of speed between the Receptor Pro C, and Receptor2 Pro (as I have both). Right now, the stability is an issue, and my Receptor2 Pro is not nearly stable enough for me to consider gigging with it. I'm guessing that many problems might be due to whatever I have loaded going awry (none of which goes awry on my Receptor Pro C), but the lack of accessibility to the system log really stops me.

Hope this helps, Regards,
Kevin L

Kevin,
I'm glad it works. Although now I'm a bit nervous about the stability as my upgraded unit just shipped today (due here next Friday). I'll just have to see what happens next - always exciting! My Rev C very rarely crashed.
