Actually, two skins. Zebra Noir is a complete re-skin of Zebra2. Zebra Noir Perform is a 'skin' that is seamless with the Zebra Noir skin, but with a (hopefully interesting) twist: the window size is smaller than Zebra2 normally is, and essentially only the performance pane and preset browser are accessible. This turns the window into something a little like a 'Uhbik-Z' in terms of size, functionality, and workflow (Uhbiks certainly were the inspiration for this idea).

Was in a rut musically, and I wanted to challenge myself with this. My goals were high aesthetic value on a dark canvas, and a few adjustments to layouts of objects to maybe tweak the way the mind flows over them. It ended up being a little heavier of a project than I thought but also pretty satisfying. I hope the results are satisfying too.

Also interesting as an exercise in the domain of GUIs, it's great to be able to do this with Zebra2 and see how things fit together. Developers that open these things up to users are awesome - thanks Urs.

Please let me know if everything is working as it should (I'm a little concerned about the performance skin), or if there are opinions about certain things in the skin.

Thanks alot. Can't wait to try it out.

Thanks for sharing - looks great. Small performance version seems to work well too!

Looks great. I cant figure out how to use it though. There is no Themes folder anywhere and creating this in the zebra folder doesnt seem to have any effect either.

Are you using V2.3 of Zebra? There should be a themes folder...

I really like the look of this one. My only complaint would be that it's tough to differentiate where one module ends and another begins. That is what I really liked about the unempty darkhorse skin, you could tell at a glance very easily what modules were being used in a patch. I really like the performance version of the skin. :)

The Perform version crashes my FL Studio 8 each time. The normal version works perfectly.

Healthy amount of contrast. Lot better than in the original.

Wow... interesting... I guess I gotta look into these

I really like this look!!

some things that are already suggested are coming up to me too..like if you view the more ocs page i would highlight the edges of the single 16 wave slots a bit more..and maybe the waveform itself aswell in those little 16s..even the modules could be a little more seperated..just a tiny bit to keep a better overview..

anything else is really nice tho..like the arp look and the colours..

even your idea on the perform look is very cool..but how did you compare it to an Uhbik-Z...did i miss the release?

btw they both work great in Cubase 4/mac osx..but with a little thingy..as soon as i shut Zebra down and reopen it..it shows the original Theme..so it doen't save the information, that a Theme has been changed..maybe you could work that out or tell me how i can solve this..

thanx!!

And yes; i'we managed to crush eXT twice, with performance version.
But then again; eXT can be crushed if you look it in bad manner.
Looks like Renoise don't like performance version either :
