Why would the fact that its sampled change the sound? Wasn't the original sample created on a synth? I'm just curious. It sounds like the original was made by sampling some chords and cutting them in pieces, then applying a filter to it, so I don't think you'll be able to get any closer than this with any synth, although I'd be glad to challenge anyone to prove me wrong

Sampling itself doesn't change the sound, but it seems to me this was made by sampling some chords from another track and then cutting them up. Each piece of chord in the sound is slightly different, similar to different positions in different chords. Probably a stepping filter was applied afterwards to create the filtered sound effect.DJSolo wrote:Why would the fact that its sampled change the sound? Wasn't the original sample created on a synth? In the original mp3 there is also a short sample cut from a vocal, which is another indication that the chords were probably made the same way too. I have no idea what the original chords sounds were created with, and since the chords contain over 5 different notes (and are probably layered too) and were run through a filter and probably stacked with sound effects (at least a reverb and eq), this is extremely hard to find out.

Hey guys! I got another request...
I really like the "addition" preset of ni's massive. I tried to recreate it in sylenth but my results aren't sounding as great as the original.
(same with "sq power stab" and "dodger")

http://www.rapresidentz.de/arves/synthie.mp3it sounds a little thin. not really close to the original

Sounds pretty close to me. The original is even thinner than this btw. You could make it sound thinner using a lowpass or bandpass filter with a bit or resonance for example.

Sylenth can't do Hard Sync (yet) so it's going to be difficult to re-create that synth sound.
