Solina String Ensemble

Stringer does sound cool, and very quick. I have had great luck with making my own VSM in Kontakt3 with samples, though. I modernized it, you know? By introducing stereo width and swells... Not traditional, but very good.
I am not a robot. You are a robot.

why isnt your string synth collaboration with nomad factory being released?

isnt this kind of a watered down version of what that was supposed to be?

they have other products to release first

is not "watered down" as synth sound, this has less effects, and no arpeggiator

Logan String Merlody II

Sounds good! All the stops out? Did you sample the individual stops so you can set them to taste? Personally I find the favoring the viola range when using the stops is very nice on the Logan, so for example I wouldn't use that exact particular sound. (Not to mention sliding the stops real-time.)

hmmm just got a response from nomad factory.... i sent them a message asking about the status of this project.. thier response was "We will not release the Analog Strings Station at Nomad Factory, this
product is going to be removed soon from our website."

really dissapointing... and i did not mean to say that your synth concept was watered down.. its just that the nomad factory plugin looked like it had soo much to offer a synth of this nature through autjentic effetcs.. to really create something special,,, it just seems like the bare bones idea was taken and a couple of standard effects were slapped on it and voila!!! im sorry but i think you could really do something great with this idea in terms of expansion.. i was really looking forward to a string machine synth that could do more :(
filters
arp
routing options
beautiful skin
on and on.... i dont need to list all of the things that would have made that a great plug..

Post

Yes GJK I see what you mean, and I would have been cool too have have more options inside one plugin like the Analog Strings Station was meant to have. Anyway if you see my Combo Sister (Transistor Organs) the essence is that.
As per NUSofting style I don't like to overload synths with arpeggiators and extra effects, you can always add them with your host.

So as you wrote "it just seems like the bare bones idea was taken and a couple of standard effects were slapped on it and voila!!!" Ok it seems but it's not like that, actually it's the opposite, this was the first design of the plugin,
the Phaser is a VA design and the Reverb is especially made for this synth.

And the big work anyway was made in the Chorus emulation and the phase sync (divide down) of the oscillators, that's what makes its sound so great IMHO.

Hi, Liqih :)

I think it is a nice project. Do you have any audio clip ?

yeah i know... i know... and i do love your work.. i was just excited to see the potential of such an ultimate analog emulation :)

im sure that what youve made sounds fantastic and i look forward to checking it out :)

Liqih, I just hope the interface will get more eye-candy too?

Post

I can't seem to find the demo downloads at NuSofting, specifically the Knagalis.

I think Liqih said it was only a work sketch, this mightn't be the final GUI.

Post

Right, the graphics will be improved before release. But eye-candy has a different meaning for each eye pairs, <grin>, anyway if you want to point me to what to change, I'll be happy to hear you.

Audio Clip: not sure what to record to demonstrate the sound quality, if you have a MIDI file of what you would play on a strings machine to test it please let me know.

Well... I always thought that EW PLAY engine has great eyecandy UI. And also that Analog String Station looked real nice, too bad it's dropped. So - polished, beveled, "wooden" shiny look. Look that says "hey, I'm vintage, but I'm shining in new colors!" Something along those lines.

I have this one, (and a few others) and the Eminence wins hands down.
