Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to ask the following questions, but I couldn't find proper answers for them (or I was to stupid to find it).

1) I can buy a second hand Rev B Receptor (40 GB, 1 GB RAM). My main interest is to run Ivory, Scarbees Rhodes, VB3 and Kontakt 2 on it. Do you think I will have speed or quality problems with this older equipment? I want to use it all live, without thinking of polyphony limitations and I must rely on the stability. Is the Rev B capable of doing that? I would love to expand the RAM to 2 GB immediately. Can it be done manually and is there anything to be kept in mind (special type of RAM?)

2) I already own Kontakt 2 and the Scarbee Rhodes (in Kontakt format). I have them autherized and use them both on my Macbook. Will it be complicated to use them on both, the Receptor and the Macbook (of course, not at the same time). What role does the iLok key plays? Do I have to buy a second edition of Kontakt?

3) I want to use the VB3 organ. I want to trigger it from my Hammond XK3 organ keyboard. As there is a problem with the midi implementation of the drawbars on the Hammond, I need to use some kind of midi mapper (See the link: http://www.midikarval.net/_mgxroot/page_10762.html (http://www.midikarval.net/_mgxroot/page_10762.html) ). In the description of the mapper it says: 'Simply open it in your VST host application (we recommend EnergyXT or Hermann Seib's VSTHost), connect the host midi input to the "Drawbars Mapper for XK-3" 's midi input and its midi output to the midi input of the plug-in organ. The 4 leds indicate which plug-in's drawbars set is moved or if other midi messages (notes, other CCs, etc.) are sent to the plug-in.' It is just a .dll-file. Will I be able to get it working properly on the Receptor in conjunction with the VB3?

Thank you very much in advance for any suggestions and ideas!

VB3 has a setup text file, you can remap the control ccs, easily, but be sure to not double-instantiate.

You will want 2G RAM for sure. I don't know how much slower a Rev B is than a Rev C, but Ivory and Kontakt 2 together could be chunky, depending on what you have loaded into K2. But VB3 should play fine, it seems pretty low-impact on my rig (see it here http://www.thesoundsmith.com/private/cokeyrig.htm)

Hey David, what is that little video screen you've got sitting on your receptor in the picture?

Sorry, Tomte. Don't mean to hijack the thread.

Just a video monitor I got off the net somewhere. It works OK (supposed to be touch screen, but no Linux drivers.) No big deal, actually - search this forum from a year or so back for 'touchscreen', they were a hot topic.
