I think both of them are not going to happen on April 1st. Unfortunately the gui design is the last thing I do for plugins, otherwise I could at least post screenshots (which kind of is the "felt" difference between vapourware and final stages of development).
To be honest, I think that Musikmesse is quite important for me status-wise, but it's a hell of an effort. I would drop it if it wasn't so much fun. It's basically a lost month every year.

Yo Urs!
So after Uhbik-X and Zebrify will you start working on your dynamic plugins? I'm tempted to buy a new compressor and limiter but I know that yours will probably be better so I'm waiting, don't have lot of cash.
If yes, do you think the plugins could be ready this year?

Well, after zebrify comes out you'll be able to use the one in zebra on other material.xx JPRacer xx wrote:Yo Urs!

Well, I'd like to know that too - are we going to see a compressor as a part of Uhbik? I hope it's not a secret...xx JPRacer xx wrote:Yo Urs!

I'll stll not promise anything... neither if there's going to be a compressor, nor if it's any good...
(I'm currently all caught up by Zebrify and Zebra 2.5... hence can't really think clearly about Uhbik)

Come on Urs, you have to work harder!

I still like the idea that there maybe a different Uhbik line just for dynamics/mastering. I think you mentioned that as an idea at one point or another.Urs wrote:I'll stll not promise anything... neither if there's going to be a compressor, nor if it's any good...

Don't get me wrong... I'd love for more free Uhbik updates, but I also wouldn't mind at all paying for some rock solid plugins for dynamics/mixing/mastering. That'd be very nice indeed.

Zebra 2.5? Are there specs or new features listed somewhere? Will it be free to current Zebra users, etc.? When will it come out? This is pretty exciting news! I am usually not such a fanboy (except when it's about Ableton Live), but Zebra is one of those products...Urs wrote:I'll stll not promise anything... neither if there's going to be a compressor, nor if it's any good...

I've been surprised at how using the transient / envelope followers within Zebrify to do something like traditional gating or compression, just a little more modular-feeling.
e.g. I tossed the transient follower, via mod-matrix, on the output of a compressor module set a little heavy. The whole sound has compression-as-effect color, but the transient follower could bump the transients a bit for some dynamics. The curves of the compressor and transient follower being independent, it felt like there was some really interesting possibilities.
So I just sort of feel like, Zebrify is well on it's way to becoming a very unique, incredibly flexible sort of dynamics processor.
Can anyone save patches, or is it way too early for that? Live just crashes when I've tried.

Ive saved a couple of presets ok.
It would be highly fantastical if, even at this early stage some kind fellow might just lend a tip or two as to how to best use Zebrify. So far its all good fun and that..but very random for me atm. Mind you..iam just learning to explore the abyss full of potential using Zebra simultaneously. Patience is key i suppose.
A few early pointers wouldnt go amiss though

Just having the excellently brutal Zebra compressor modules alone (with their 3 modes) available to use on other audio tracks is worth the price of admission alone (well, you know what I mean...)
Adding the two input processors (transient and env follow) expands the processing possibilities way beyond standard compressors.
I could say similar for the filter modules - using just one standard filter block (not to mention the XMF modules
Zebrify is turning out to be a really serious piece of kit.
Thank you Urs for your genious as well as your generosity.

Urs has indicated that it'll be a free upgrade for existing users. I don't recall any specs, except that Zebrify (the effects version of Zebra) will be included. Time frame is vague.kenporter wrote:Zebra 2.5? Are there specs or new features listed somewhere? Will it be free to current Zebra users, etc.? When will it come out?
All in all, it is a very highly anticipated update.
