Those rubber washers are useless because there would still be a metal connection between the fan and the housing. I'm using rubber mounts that pop into the holes where you would put screws through too mount a fan against. That will basically isolate the fan from the housing.

A big problem is the Audio I/O board is above the MOBO but too close to the CPU which gives very few options for a CPU cooler. Especially for a side draft type. If and when Muse decides to upgrade their OS to accept a quad core. They will have to redesign the I/O board to make room for a larger cooler. There is about 3/8" of unpopulated area along the board that could be relieved to allow room for a bigger and better cooler. Don't think I haven't thought twice about breaking out my dremal.

It's back together and working great. It will even work quiet with that evercool fan if you use the rubber mounting screws.remember you can only drill enough to get the pointy end through and make sure you deburr the holes real good. Also remove their thermal compound and use artic silver instead.

A minor scale is a major scale starting 3 half steps down from the major and visa versa. Any Chord has as many versions as it has notes.

Everyone should realize that Muse Research does not recommend nor do they warrant modifications to the cooling solution for Receptor. You can order Receptors with the studio fan option, either new or through the upgrade program, but please realize that Throbert is obviously a very skilled technician who has the experience to do these modifications, but any modifications to Receptor are done at your own risk.Throbert wrote:It's back together and working great.
