Hello everyone,
It's true and I've been able to verify it that the Stylus RMX 1.7 update will not work on Receptor (despite what may be listed on their website). Right now I would reccomend you not go through with this update until we can resolve the current problems with it. For those who already did install the update I've written down a guide for re-installing it that usually works for spectrasonics plugins:
1) Make a backup copy of the folder below:
C: / program files / VST plugins / unsupported plugins / spectrasonics / Stylus RMX
You can do this by simply copying it on to your home computer desktop.
2) Delete everything in the 'stylus RMX' folder EXCEPT for the file 'stylusrmx custom info.xml' DO NOT delete this file, leave it in the folder.
3) Delete the updated sample library for stylus at:
C: / program files / spectrasonics / sage
Once this is done replace it with the old sage library folder (as per the old instructions on www.plugorama.com)
4) Go to receptor 'setup' page and click on 'run utility' select the refresh plugins option and follow on screen instructions/.
4) copy the old stylusrmx.dll file to the directory below:
C: / program files / VSTplugins / unsupported plugins / spectrasonics / stylusRMX
4) Open Receptor viewer and go to the 'setup' page to install the old Stylus as usual. You will probably have to re-register it.

Thanks for your reply, Mr. Wallace.
Someone from Spectrasonics returned my call from last week yesterday, leaving a voicemail. He invited me to call back again and gave me a couple of links I could try at their site.
However, when I followed those links, they appeared to be generic help sections with no specific information about Stylus RMX on Receptor, so no luck there.
As for Muse, yesterday I e-mailed the support employee I had spoken with over the phone last week to ask for an update. I have yet to hear back from him; but, while 18 hours have passed since I sent that e-mail, only two of them have been business hours, so it's a little early to expect a reply yet.
Anyway, that's where things stand here. Does anyone else have more to report?
Best,
Geoff

Unfortunately no... I don't think we can do any more for the moment. Let's just hope that they will be able to fix the problem quickly... This update looks so cool!

My understanding is that they expect to get Stylus RMX 1.7 working soon for Receptor 2 users but that other Receptor users may have to wait for the next Receptor operating system upgrade, OS 1.8.

Geoff

Hi!
Spectrasonics released a new version of update 1.7 (version 1.7.2f) It is available on their website... They also made it available for Receptor users, so let's hope it will work better than the first release... I haven't tried it yet... I'm too afraid that it doesn't work, because I need it working for the next days.
If anyone tries it, please let us know!

I downloaded and tried it. No luck.
I tried refreshing plug-ins after installing and I got an alert message that Stylus RMX wasn't responding. When I loaded a multi that included Stylus RMX, the channel on which Stylus was assigned was grayed out in the Receptor Viewer window.
Now, it's possible that Receptor 2 users may have a different result. I have a Rev C with OS 1.7.
Best,
Geoff

Why would they have a different result? Is the OS different in Receptors 2? I'm not very up-to-date concerning the difference between Receptor v1 and v2...Geoff Grace wrote:Now, it's possible that Receptor 2 users may have a different result. I have a Rev C with OS 1.7.

Receptor 2 has OS ver 1.8xx. This has not yet been released for all Receptors. I do not know what the differences are, but True Pianos worked on 1.7xx and does not yet work on 1.8xx. I also had to install an updated Receptor tools (viewer). So there are differences that affect at least some software. Note: True Pianos was and is not currently supported on Receptor by Muse, but 4 Front had it running on 1.7xx.
